yes white board is called tahta and boar marker is called tahtakalime

Hello, first I would like to thank you for all those videos before I come to my question which is : why do we say ; ''karatahtaya'' and not ''karatahtada'' : normally the suffix ''DA'' means on sth and ''(y)a'' means towards sth, no ??

Actually we use both. to write on the blackboard = karatahtaya yazmak to solve a (math) question on blackboard = karatahtada soru çözmek Regards, Team Turkishclass

I am Urdu speaking, but would like to say that "Karatahta" is more like Black-board, for...tahta is a word as like "takhta" in Urdu, which means board in English. As such, we have the word Takhta-seyah in Urdu/Persian for Blackboard, which is called Kara-tahta in Turkish.
