Turkiye is one of the few countries that makes good warship designs and modern naval weapons systems that are not too expensive to operate and maintain, just like South Korea. Those new ASFAT warships look modern, sleek and stealthy. I’m honestly rooting for Turkiye to secure more bidding contracts from the Philippine Navy’s modernization program, would love to see these turkish made warships sailing and protecting our waters in the Philippines♥️

I wish there will be 3 to 5 Alreigh Burke class destroyers (better to be Flight IIA at least!) procured from USNavy. Such deal wouldn't be just Turkiye's benefit but also NATO members will get better protection from Blacksea.

I think the 40mm AA guns are a good idea for extra protection from drones. I also like the 40mm anti drone "Sahin" grenade launcher Türkiye designed. However, everytime I see Türkiye's drone carrier I can't believe they actually bought air defense systems from our enemy Russia, costing them the F-35 deal. Hopefully we continue strengthening our relationship moving forward. 🇺🇸🤝🇹🇷

Well buying S400 was was a reaction and message for USA. Despite we are allies USA is following antiturkish policies since second Iraq war. Turkey had separatist teror issue, USA denied to sell drones to Turkey and opposite USA rebranded PKK terorists and armed them to use against ISIS. Also USA rejected to sell Turkey patriot air defence system. While Turkey was under threat of soviet era ballistic missiles from Iraq and Syria USA didnt sell Turkey patriots. USA sold patriots to Greece which also have russian s300 air defence systems. Everytime Turkey has a problem on Iraqi or Syrian border Spanish patriot batteries come to protect Turkey. And there is still a Spanish patriot battery protecting Turkey from Syria's Scud missiles. Thanks to pur Spanish brothers they didn't pull back their batteries like other european powers. Also France didnt sell Aster air defence system. So USA didn't leave an option to Turkey, because it seen like NATO wanted to keep Turkish skies protectless. Also there is a second reason that the 2016 coup. Islamists in Turkish Army tried a coup in 2016 and Incirlik base was used for this cıup. It was obvious that America was supporting that coup. Because leader of the islamist sect behind that coup is living in Pensilvania. And Turkish jets bombed Turkish Parliament. So Turkey wanted to have a nonNATO airdefence too to stop if a Turkish or Nato asset shows hostility. As a secular oriented Turkish citizen I see Turkey's future in Nato. But it is obvious that antiTurkish policies are rising in America and Europe. Because of that Turkey pushed to eastern block by US.

Is Greece your enemy too? Turkey is very lucky not to be sucked into the F-35 program...a war losing 'hanger queen' After 7 years, the UK has a whopping 7 F-35s...with the billions blown on one targeted base infrastructure alone...the Royal Navy could have had two fleet carriers with...joint American funding..EMALS launch systems. The QE Carriers could have had at least a wing of more efficient fighters.

Gokbey ... a Turkiye made new helicopter. TAI working on "sea" model of it for replacement of "old" Seahawks ... now Gokbey on the "high altitute tests" 15k feet finish far as I know, next test about 20k feet. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TAI_T625_G%C3%B6kbey

@@jamieshields9521 As you aware sea capable choppers really rare and expensive animals, you need time for lot of extra development unlike land base (basic) cousins, because sea water and salt also humidity; only electronics carry by those babies almost same price tag with two land base model ... Gokbey join army service end of the 2024, but sea version? Maybe 2026 or 2027 ... as you can see replace the old seahawks aren't easy task imho.

@@kaanyagzer8536 yeah ask us Australians about Sea Sprite, run cost of AS.350 Squirrel or even better NH90. We could save, time if had brought more S-70B-2 versions after first batch of 16, heck we could have shouted NZ with 12 Seahawks instead buying our problem Sea Sprite.

That new OPV is quite similar with Ada class corvettes, which were the first MILGEM ships to enter service in 2011. I'm not sure what that captain wanted to say. Perhaps this OPV would be faster than a Ada corvette, and would not have anti submarine capabilities.

The main different is it doesnt have the lm2500 jet engine, which make this ship les speed but almost everything is made in Turkey and make it cheap and mass production of several of them

In 2016 coup attempt, we couldn't even shoot down our own f16s. Probably our president got worried about our air defense capability for that reason and siper & hisar wasn't ready back then. Probably we only had modernized hawk system for medium range air defense and no long range air defense at all. Thus he rushed for s400 (patriot wasn't available to us back then). South Koreans developed s350 with Russians and that kind of cooperation would be better for us instead of buying ready made s400.

Smartest decision Turkiye made was to get out of procuring password controlled jets of US and design it own 5th+ generation jet KAAN superior to f35 and get out of dependence to US whims by creating its own modern defense sector whose affordable and nato standard products are being gobbled up by the nations who are tired of string attached procurement from US and other western nations! You can't even start the f35 without a password why would any sane independent nation agree to that...

We no longer need S400s anymore we have our own SIPER system, latest version of which will have 600km range. No buyers remorse, for it was used for studying it and making our own superior ADS and was used as an excuse to get kicked out of a disastrous password controlled f35 program, so that we did not have to pay for breach of contract...got it! Another well informed american on world affairs, read my reply to drbendover above regarding his idiotic f35 comment.

Kick turkey out of NATO! Stand with Greece, stand with Cyprus, stand with Armenia, Kurdistan, Syria, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia! Justice for the Greeks, Armenians, Assyrians and Kurds!
