TURKEY Part I - Campervan Overland - Let's get otter here - Episode 3
Our adventures in Turkey started for us on Monday, July 1st, 2019.
We spend a week in Istanbul. That is just enough to visit the touristy center of the city. We walk around a lot - sometimes with and sometimes without a specific goal - have a look around and absorb the atmosphere. We learn a lot about the history of the city in a 'free walking tour' and have a look at some of its sights on a boat tour from the water of the Bosphorus. We visit several mosques, stroll through markets, eat deliciously and enjoy the diversity of this city.
We spent the night in the parking lot of the convention center in Yenikapi. From here you can walk to Hagia Sofia in 45 minutes. It was relatively quiet at night and our campervan was guarded here day and night for around 5 €. For us the much better deal than an expensive hotel.
Then we head towards Izmir on the west coast of Turkey. We spend five days and nights on three different beaches (Ulubat Lake, Urla Demircili, Pamucak Beach) and are rarely alone.
A further highlight of our trip then awaits us three hours away from the Adriatic coast: the cities of Pamukalle and Hieropolis.

Ihr Beiden seid einfach Klasse! Nächstes Jahr kriegen wir unseren Malibu... Wir haben Ähnliches vor. Danke für diese (digitalen) Erlebnisse. Wie ein kleiner Spoiler für uns. 😂

Liegt in Pamukkale Schnee? Der Ortsname klingt eher finnisch als türkisch.

Pamuk heißt Baumwolle/Watte und Kale Schloss/Burg. Das sieht aus wie Schnee sind aber Kalksteinterrassen

Ohh ja, die Türkei ist wahnsinnig schön und ein Trip mit dem Wohnmobil dorthin können wir absolut empfehlen. Wir hatten 3 sehr schöne Wochen dort und wären auch gerne noch länger geblieben! :-)
