Turkey has 4 million Syrian refugees and approximately 1/5 of them are Kurds. Secondly Turkey has 15 million Kurdish citizen already ( I am halfly one of them). Moreover, Turkey also very strong relationship with Barzani Government in Northern Iraq. Thus, Turkey is not fighting against Kurds but PKK and Kurdish separatism and it has all rights to do that.

The united states knew Turkey is going to start an operation. US military and strategy personal build fortresses in mountain cliff's between the mountain passes. They callculated if an army with tanks would enter where and how will they proceed. Along that way they have set op traps. If anyone watched the movie: "Normandia" imagine the fortification whats in that movie. A Cilinder shaped bunker 2 stories high which is inbedded in the mountai. It has walls of 90 cm reinforced concrete. connected with each other with trenches of 2 meter high. And they have build defence lines till city centrum of Afrin. Those geography is all with olive trees and mountainess area. Olive tress are planted very close to each other so tanks will have difficult to pass. It was planted like this 50-60 years ago by father Assad, to slow any tank devision. I will put 2 links where you can see military showing these bunkers. We have entered 15 km in 5 days, Amerika did not think we could breach those lines. But we just showed those yankee's and their generals what the Turkish army is made of. You guys need to understand. to surround entire Afrin region means 250 km. Afrin is not Kurdish. It is not a place where Kurds were dominant. It came under PKK rule after 2012. Many Kurds, Turks, Arabs escaped from Afrin are immigrants in Turkey and Turkey will just put these people back to their original lands.
