I lived in 3rd Ward, Uptown on Baronne. Just moved recently back in Jan of this year. When I tell you, ppl are STILL wearing soldier rags, camo’d down to the socks, and playing Soulja Slim music, please believe it. Met Peaches, Soulja sister and Ms. Linda, his mom at a recent second line in Uptown. Both are down to earth and cool as hell. Went to the Big Man Lounge on Claiborne and Louisiana St and took a pic by his mural. Visited his spot at Mount Olivet cemetery too. Soldier rags and flowers everywhere. The man is still a living legend in the NOLA. RIP to a real one. 🙏🏾⚜️

RIP Slim I didnt know him but i met him the day before he passed. He came to my job to get an oil change on his Escalade. I was a fan but I was a man. Meaning, I wasnt on no star struck, groupie stuff like some dudes be. Sometimes you don't want to meet people who you're a fan of because they might dissapoint you. Slim extended his hand and dapped me off. That in itself said a lot. I've met rappers from the city who wasn't close to as big as Slim who acted flaky. A good friend of mine knew Slim too. He stayed around Slim's momma house in Gentilly and had ran it with him a few times. RIP to my dog E too

@@user-TriplegggggggTurk was way too heavy in the streets, he could really rap but he was only rapping cus his lil bro Wayne was rappin and baby was paying them for each song, he wasn’t seeing the money he righteously earned on them Hot Boyz, Big Tymers and best of Cash Money Records albums and tours !! The Ruff Ryders Cash Money tour with Rocafella and G Unit proved him to be a real star but his addiction had him so loaded, him, DMX and BG had it bad, they was robbing and stealing and hitting licks and going to every hood blessing ngz with paying double and tripple what the drugs were worth and they missed alot of Video and photo shoots cus they were too damn street. Turk admits he was loaded and paranoid when the police burst in his house and he was protecting him and his wife and started blasting and shot police and eventually surrendered and that time in prison really helped him sober up enough to have a wake up call and realize that he wasn’t cut out to be in Hollywood at that time being from the projects and he admits you can’t be deep in the streets and pay enough attention to your contracts and obligations to remain successful. People like that from the bottom who are teenage multimillionaires who are hyper violent and drug addicts need real coaching and council and baby didn’t provide that because he was capturing their raw element and capitalizing off them living what they rapped and it made the labels and execs more money keeping them in the dark to the business than it did educating them. This is why all the artists from the 50s to the early 2ks all complained about deceptive business practices and the people they trusted fumbling their best interest. Sad but true. Baby knew the game but had them more focused on making the music and performing NOT the business of contracts, marketing and selling the music!

I do not know too much about S.S. but, not sure I would compare S.S to Youngboy...One was in the streets for real while the other one just raps about it.
