Turbo vs Blown | Garage Worx Nissans
Out with the Nissan four cylinder and in with LS V8 grunt. It’s hard to beat cubic inches and it’s easy to see why. At a recent Vic Drift practice day we caught up some a few of the guys from the Garage Worx drift team. Both Nissan Silvia’s are still boosted, Thomas’ is Magnuson supercharged while Moe’s is Garrett turbocharged but both have one thing in common, and that’s shredding tyres.
This was Moe’s first time out with the new turbo setup, the car did run a low boost supercharger previously. Now with around 700hp to the wheels, this was enough to literally melt the tyres. Thomas’ S13 is a very similar build path apart from the supercharged sitting atop of the engine.

From the look on his face in the car he could be sitting at home on the fucking couch, how relaxed does he look!
The guy in the turbo car makes it look really easy lol, soooo effortless!
Cant beat the supercharged version!!! That whine is epic and all the bottom end torque would be unreal.
3:45 "No officer, this car is stock..."
that whine is music to my ears!
those cars must be really well set up, the drivers are hardly having to make any corrections when they're in a drift. Personally, I think that's more impressive than the engines because ls engines make big power really easily
Dude looks so relaxed driving, just a real nonchalant rip around the track sideways lol.
Epic.
working next to these guys is amazing
That super charger sounds sick
this shit should go viral. damn
friggin solid !!!
moe you are my new hero lol
He make it look so easy!!!!
Good stuff!!! Sick!!!]
brilliant 👍
Another day in the office for Moe.
like a boss!
I RECKON THE TURBO WAS BETTER THAN THE SUPERCHARGER!!! BUT BOTH BEASTS!! Imagine them being Road Legal with Rego and all.. Lol..# Unbeatable!!
I just want my taco bell to look like it did in that pre video commercial

Lol that one tire fire... 😂😂😂
Tokyo drift king XD
Supercharger
Fully hektic :P
practiced cool.
You would think with that power the hydro setups would be a bit redundant.
how much can you increase power of NA with roots/screw without need for intercooler on a front engine ?

The thing is, supercharger come with a intercooler under the blower. So there's no need for a front mount intercooler, unless its turbocharged or procharged :)
nothing compares to the engine note of a single turbo ls. especially on limiter.. much respect to the dude running the supercharger, but I'm afraid I would take the turbo option

Really? The main reason i would pick the supercharger is because of the sound
3:13 turbo ls drives by then supercharged ls. the supercharged has a nicer exhaust note to me. not muffled by the turbo. I'd be willing to sacrifice some power for nice sound lol

But the loss in return means, no lag and extra torque on a already torquey motor.
cool as a fucken cucumber. what yoi mean my cars on fire? hahaha, beasts
Maybe it's cos I own a XR6 Turbo, but I honestly think that the Turbo was quicker and sounded SICKKK!!!
he looks so depressed
That looks like a whipple blower to me
i have got to build a drift car
I bet he drives like that to work
mad s13
i would think that a supercharger would be more desireable due to the instant responce

Dude, it's a V8. Already got plenty of torque before boost comes in from the turbo. Set it up right and there could be zero lag.
Again its always an LS swap ahahah #LSTHEWORLD.... cant beat em!!!
HAND BRAKE IS FOR CORRECTION
Tom sabo is the balls
LS swap the world!!!
