TURBO Mazda3 Review! Is the MazdaSpeed3 Finally Back?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Mazda over the years has created some pretty amazing sports cars. Everything from the classic Mazda Miata to the rotary RX-7. The Mazdaspeed3 was a wildcard however - lots of torque steer and one of the most gnarly hot hatches on the market. With the new Mazda3 Turbo it seems like Mazda wants to be back in the game...but in a different way. So what's it like living with the Mazda3 Turbo? Let's talk about it. Thanks for watching and new uploads every Tuesday,Thursday, and Saturday!

mazda is trying to stand out of other economy brands by going with a little of premium feel and i must say this interior is one of my favorites right now , minimalist , not alot of buttons and no overwhelming 50 inch screens , very well balanced interiors

I drove a mazda 3 hatch at the end of 2019 and absolutely loved it. Their interior was honestly a massive shock to me, it felt way more expensive than it had any right to be for a 26k car lol. and it had a lot of tech that I didn't expect to be in it as well. All in all, I say their attempt at going upscale at a lower price point is working. I would absolutely daily one.

While all the other brands get more angular and covered in fake vents and creases, Mazda seems to be the only one sticking with smooth lines and dancing curves. I approve of their design language, theirs are some of the only new cars that don't look fucking atrocious.

As a Speed3 owner, I'm glad they didn't call this a Speed3. This feels like a Speed3 for grownups, which isn't a bad thing. It's a little nicer in materials and more mature. Shame it doesn't have a manual, otherwise it might have provided competition against the (non sti) wrx. I am very excited to see one with bolt ons tho.

This review couldn’t have come out at a better time. I just bought my 2019 AWD premium hatch, and i bought it because I felt it was as close as I could get to something that would suit my need for a daily driver and an enthusiast. To be honest I felt self conscious because it’s an automatic (I couldn’t find any decent manual trans cars I’d enjoy building in my area because I’m from the middle of nowhere and the roads are rough and the snow is ridiculous etc. etc.) but I’m glad people are supporting the car and it’s potential. My goal is to build a fun daily that can put up a decent track time. The paddles are nice to have at least. It’s never going to be as engaging as a standard but it’ll be comfortable and clean. As I get older, my tastes in cars has changed a bit. They've said it's too childish, and it's not the direction they want to go. Which is sad. Because, imo, the Mazda3 2.5T doesn't need much to be a true blue Mazdaspeed3 successor. Very nice review of the exact same spec/color/interior I will be buying soon once my 2016 GTI sells. I agree with everything you pointed out, especially the view out the rear, but I can get used to it I think. Seems to me Mazda could have added about an inch more vertical rear glass down towards the bumper without ruining the styling, (or straight copied the similar looking Alfa Romeo Brera and bring it down to a V point) just not sure that would make a huge diff in rear visibility. Thankfully it will have blind spot monitoring and the 360° parking cam you demonstrated so shouldnt be a huge issue. I'm very excited...the interior is second to none for the price, and while the suspension might not be quite as capable as the GTI, it still feels really good, and that glorious 320 ft lbs of torque won't overpower the front wheels due to the AWD quickly kicking in on hard pulls. I think of this thing like a Japanese Golf R, but for literally about $10k less similarly equipped (the R won't have a moonroof at any trim level) ..and thats quite remarkable.

This car being a hatchback people always will compare it to the MS3. I feel this has the heart of the MS6. I test drove this and I used to own an 06 MS6 and the instant torque and power to the ground reminded me of the MS6. Both being AWD I think Mazda thought about the MS6 when building this car. The MS6 to me, always felt more of a grown up car when compared to the MS3. The Mazda 3 Turbo is just that but smaller and lighter.
