Any news on this build , I'm doing this same diesel build swap on a 72 yamaha at2, been thinking bout turboing it too just don't know the ins and outs of any necessary fuel or timing adjustments that might be needed

Thanks man, we are finishing up the build this week. Should have the first test drive video up by this weekend.

It would probably spool better with a shorter exhaust pipe to the turbo👍 cool build!

Well done, living in the desert, am partial to the diesel as it creates less heat. And need more of a pack mule than a fast bike....

Oh yes, and the fuel efficiency is amazing

This thing looks bad ass! Just plug it off. My little Yanmar L70 diesel doesn’t have a vent like it does on it from what I can see. I’d just put some hose on it w a bolt or put it.

If you plug the vent your just going to end up blowing oil out of the seals, you must give the crank case blow by gasses a place to escape. Typically you just plumb the hose into the intake.

Take the side cover off and do a governor delete and cut the governor stud. I have this exact same engine and when you cut that stud it frees up the fuel injection pump all the way letting it use as much fuel as it can

@@andrewjohnson442 yes it is, and yea it is very reliable, I have mine boosted on 5 lbs, not a whole lot but really Wakes it up, I have it on a go cart super fun and torquey

Do you know the taper of the flywheel?? Will it use a starting flywheel for a 212?

a super charger could be a good way to go on a single cylinder engine , neat work regardless cheers

You should be able to cut a hole in the side cover and run some kind of a belt to a mini alternator

Man that's a great idea, we are wanting to do some more things to the bike soon. Once this motor is gone I have an electric start version sitting in the crate and I believe it may have a charging system stock. I think there may be a guy on tiktok or KZread that installed a blower on his mini diesel by installing a belt.

What clutch did you guys use? Everything i see the shaft size is just over 3/4. So a regular clutch wont work?

Rather then tear down am engine that is not well supported u could be like here turn a few tho out of this piece and slap er together

What engine Is that?

Is the pump adjustable to turn it up?

Im sure you can modify it with shims but we have not messed with ours, yet.....

@@CampbellBrothersGarage Do you notice any performance difference at all? I messed with my govonor and did the turbo and the same time. Its now slower and has a absurd amount of smoke. Im pretty sure its the govonor is just dumping so much fuel its bogging it, but im not totally sure.

Part 2 will be up this week. Im just now getting back to where I can edit videos again.

Turbo is too far away from cylinder, hotter the exhaust to turbine better boost. It could be the turbo is made for larger displacement engine.

That turbo is definitely made for bigger engines, but I don't think they make smaller ones.

Correct, but this is the smallest turbo you can buy. Producing 4psi now and feels like double the power when you ride it. Best thing you can do to one of these little Diesel engines. Currently adding a manual clutch to the setup to put more load on engine.

Total lack of understanding of the diesel in the middle of this mess. Have fun, boys.
