Slowly make it fast, to the point that its dangerous to drive it

Short ben is a fantastic driver, he was really whipping that camaro. I would have liked to see rally when it wasn’t wet and muddy, it would have been more legit but man that camaro should be easily pushing 450 to the wheels. Speaking from first hand experience those new edge mustangs are extremely slow and expensive to mod, 2v 4.6 puts no power down. Very surprised they went with one instead of an LS.

The rally event was really pointless. The times were so insanely long that IMHO there’s wasn’t really a winner because it wasn’t even really a contest. They should go at it again when dry to determine the real winner of the overall competition.

the 4.6 2v is defiently not expensive to mod, yes it makes less hp then the ls no debate but you can get a turbo kit just as cheap for the 4.6 as you can for the ls1 and they can make good power for cheap and parts are dummy cheap too in general, also that GT has a way better rear end than the camaro it just all came down to how they spent the budgets.

This just goes to show you, as long as you gut the interior, and slap on an intercooler and turbo as big as your head, you can make an old LS Camaro run roughly 1998 stock quarter mile times. Great video, great series!

That's way worse than stock times. A LS1 4th gen is capable of 12's bone stock. 14's and 105mph trap speeds is just embarrassing.

A bone stock ls1 Camaro will run a 13.5 all day.. drag radials and bolt ons put it in the 12's.. they're not slow

This is such a good collaboration. It’s just automotive enthusiasm in the purest, grassroots level. I can picture myself doing the same with friends. Early roadkill seasons captured the same spirit and it why it was successful.

I thought the same, but on the other hand, Ben should be able to feel, if one tire is locked up and the other one is not. The car should yaw to the left a bit.

Talk to Sam Strano about suspension set up. I had a Camaro, handled pretty well with his set up. Koni yellow shocks, Strano sway bars, Strano springs and some better tires. First time viewer, really loved this series. Thanks guys.

My 98 T/A WS6 has Koni Yellows and Strano springs. It was an unbelievable improvement in handling performance and the stance looks amazing. Sam is also awesome to deal with; he spent about 20 minutes on the phone with me, helping me decide which parts to go with.

You guys need to do fast 4wd/awd cars for the next season, but **No Saloons, hatchbacks, or wagons! I'd love to see a K24 swapped CRV vs an LS Silverado or something similar, that would be loads of fun!

I don't really get why only 1 guy is driving the car and the other one just has to stand there and look at it the whole time. It would be way more fun to see both drivers driving.

Nothing happened to the motor and the turbo is fine the Camaro legit locked the front right tire and just smoked it up till it came out of retirement and the smoke cleared. Love the Camaro 🔥

You can definitely tell how much the handling mods helped the mustang in the autocross. Ended up being a lot closer than I thought it would be though. I really thought the ls1 would obliterate the 4.6 in all three events. Neither cars were well equipped for the mud though 😂

@@joshdaniel7894 Because it's slow as balls. You can boost it but, a 5.0 is just better money's worth. The engines are extremely reliable and run forever tho I'll give em that.

Something was wrong with that Z28. It got through the 1/4 in 3rd gear ? Those 6spd cars have 3.42's . They also ran mid 13's. What did the turbo do ? Those are stock motor times. They should have used better tires

Yeah I'm kinda baffled. Mine stock with nothing more than sticky tires ran a 12.9 in the 1/4 on my third attempt once I figured out how to launch it well. The LS stock produces anywhere from 285 to 310 at the rear wheels depending on year. This car should have been pushing at least 360-380 at the rear wheels conservatively in my opinion. And you are right tires make a hell of a difference. I don't know what the width of those C6 wheels they have are but I upgraded to 17x9 snowflake replica wheels specifically made for the 4th Gen fbody. First thing I ever did with mine is all the maintenance items on the car including replacing diff fluid and also replaced the tires.

I love everything about this video! The good natured ribbing, the classic Ford versus Chevy battle, and that everyone really wanted to win despite having fun. Great content.

This was like taking a knife to a gun fight. taking a 2v 4.6 with sucky tires vs a LS with a turbo and decent tires. Not sure this was a fair fight.

Id love to see a second round, same events(including the rally) same cars, but some more mods now that you guys have found the weak points. Then bring out a Japanese/Euro cars with the same money in them. I think that could get very interesting.

The smoke was you locking the front right braking, front left also locked up a couple times in the mud, might have a caliper that's not doing so hot

That Camaro is definitely not making 600hp and only trapping 110. My heavier 5th gen made 430 to the wheels will trap 115

Rarely cross should definitely be the last event. It’s going to be a big pain in the ass getting all that mud from underneath the car.
