@@birdybird222 I mean, yeah, it makes sense. Lithuanian is more conservative than Latgalian, so it's easier for conservative speaker to understand a modern speaker than the other way around. P. S. When I said I could almost understand it, I meant I still had to look at the translation, and then I would notice an awful lot of similarities which made it easier. I'd say it's more understandable than Latvian, it sounds like Samogitian speaking Latvian

When you study the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth you discover that Latgalia was a separate state of Latvia (Courland-Semigola) state administered by Poland, almost like another country.
