When I found these videos, I thought they were awesome. But now I find it boring to see slow failures because it is obvious sand just falls off when in contact with water. What would be fun is a well designed dam that fails at a threshold, then watch the water crashing down in one great swoop.

Hmm that did not go the way I was expecting. On seeing the slope and the cavernous opening on the side, I was expecting the water to slowly creep up with minor erosion and nothing catastrophic until the water reached the cavern, then it would carve through the cavern's wall to bust out on other side. NOPE The water had major erosion and the cavern's floor was already collapsing before water reached it and water still didn't 'bust through' the wall of the cavern...as it collapsed before, so water had to go over as usual.

I also like the fact that when creating a dam, I never know exactly how it will collapse.

What's the over/under on getting a simulated Cthulhu attack during a dam breach utilizing purple dyed mom's spaghetti? Maybe suspend it from some fishing string or just chunk it in from across the room. - you know, to encourage realism.

Love the videos, had an idea. A house built out of blocks of condensed cotton candy and or just blocks of regular cotton candy and with Green tinted water it should theoretically melt and decay the blocks like acid on metal or concrete. Could be a cool effect.

well, scrubbing might be necessary, i dont have experience with things like this best case scenario; more water on its own could help, dissolving the cotton candy completely
