Tuning Seekins Precision's Low-Profile Adjustable Gas Block.
This in-depth video takes you through the process to tune the correct gas level for your Seekins Precision Low Profile Adjustable Gas Block.
Check out the gas blocks here: www.seekinsprecision.com/prod...
The Seekins Precision Low Profile Adjustable Gas Block lets you to fine tune your rifle's gas system for smoother cycling and operation. Regulating the amount of gas used to cycle the action allows tuning the rifle’s operation to a specific load and the use of low mass bolt carriers, buffers and springs to reduce felt recoil. This is critical to allow faster follow up shots, target acquisition and reliability.

Great video Seekins. I’ll be tuning my low profile adjustable this weekend. Much appreciated.
Awesome vid! I was always told that you should keep closing the gas off until it won’t lock back, and then try a quarter turn open and make sure you can cycle a full mag thru with a lock back on the last round. Never heard of the 3:00 to 5 o’clock trajectory before but it makes sense.
So, the adjustment screw is not accessible thru my hand guard. Neither do I have a bullet trap (as shown in the video). Seem the only option is to remove the hand guard, go to a range, shoot in the GENERAL direction of the backstop until I get the setting correct. Then go home and reassemble the hand guard. Then go back to the range and (re)zero the rifle. Do I have this about right?
excellent video, I have a Seekins on my first build and it's going out this weekend
Does gun safety apply?
Can you run a straight Gas tube on the other gas block
Helpful. Strange that no info on the packaging 🤔.
Awesome! Can’t wait for my DMR to arrive!
If I’m going to put a suppressor on this unit do I test it and set the gas block with suppressor installed or put it in after gas block is set?
Question, Does the select gas block take up the exact same footprint on the barrel? (As this adjustable gas block)
This was really a greatd Vid..! Keep up the gppd work and please put this guy in 4 a raise..!
Excellent tutorial
Just watched the awesome video, great tips.
Good video. I recently bought this ABG from your pals at PA during their Labor Day sale. Now I just need to figure out which gun to put it on. ;) Gave you a like, so now you've got an even 200.
It would be nice to know what the distance is between set screws
I'm all "Jacked up on Mountain Dew" looking ass!!! 😆
Do you recommend using a little bit of Loctite on the jam screw or set screws to avoid them backing out over many rounds?

We do not. Even Red locktite will come loose because of how hot the gas block gets with normal use. A good snugging on the jam screw should do the trick. As for the set screws underneath the block, the 5nm tightness has yet to come loose on any of my personal builds, but it doesn't hurt to stake those if you're worried about it.

@@heatseekins Thank you for the prompt response.
Same starting place (1.25) work for 300blk? Non suppressed.
what is the set screw spacing? I know there are 3 or 4 different spacings out there.
Can this be adjusted under a handguard with a sufficiently long tool?

Yes!

@@heatseekins So I can adjust it and lock the screw? Isn't the adjustment on the side? Or are both now on the front of the block?
@heatseekins

@@YukarisGearReviews Depending on your handguard, the gas key screw may or may not be accessible The Locking screw is on the front, Gas Key screw on the side. Sorry for the confusion! A Lot of handguards do have spacing that allows access to both screws.
Love the video and thanks for the info but please talk a little slower 🤔😊

Matty has one speed: Fast. 🤣 Thank goodness for KZread having an adjustable playback speed, am I right? 😊
No
"Attempt to place the weapon on SAFE, remove the source of feed, charging handle to the rear, visually inspect chamber, magazine well, bolt face..." I'm having flashbacks to EIB 😂
Lol using the forward assist

Great great video. Would have been perfect if you didn’t seem like you were being played at 1.5 speed. Slow down a little for us that can’t think that fast.

Matty has only one talking speed: Fast. 🤣 Thank goodness KZread has an adjustable playback speed 😊
Good video. Just a bit annoying with all the overly safety related stuff. I think anyone looking into an item like this is a gun enthusiast and aware of handling a firearm. A simple disclosure at the beginning would suffice.

You might be surprised. This video is geared towards all levels of experience. If you know, you know, and can zone out on the safety stuff, but if you're like the 7 Million+ new gun owners over the last year, you may find the information helpful. Let's remember we made this video for more people than just you and you're extensive knowledge. Thanks for watching! 😊

Dude as a long time gun owner I also know this stuff, do you know why? Bc people like Matty hammered into my head like he just did in this video. Not to mention you are working at the FRONT of the barrel when you do this. I didn’t mind it at all.

The entire point is to drill this into your head to where it is second nature. If you’re following along with the same checks, it shouldn’t be annoying. If it’s annoying, you might be skipping it…
Weapon systems, suppressor. Lol. Might as well start using terms like "clip" or "do dad" .

Cool story, bro. I'll be sure he uses those terms next time to really drive you wild. 😉

Which terms would you prefer? Firearm? Rifle? Carbine? Muffler? Can? Moderator? Silencer? All of the above are correct, quit being a pedant. I'll be sure to ask you for your preferred pronouns if I see you elsewhere on KZread.
The screws you talk about are set screws and require a "hex" wrench.. an Allen wrench is a brand.. There is no such thing as "roll" pin.. This is a "spring" pin. It uses the "spring" of the roll formed steel to stay in place..

These are the commonly accepted terms used to describe these parts. "Allen key" is as synonymous with "hex key" as "Kleenex" is with "paper face tissue." Further, if you called the pin in question a "spring pin," very few people who build ARs would know what you're talking about. So it doesn't serve you to be upset about it.
