S5 owner here had a ton of fun, thanks Sam for always inviting me. The car started heat soaking towards the last run overall though a TCU tune for the Golf as well myself would make a huge difference (not enough to beat the rs3 but in general) but unfortunately for now we wait until its unlocked 😢

Dang the S5 and R had no TCU tune? I know on the R it actually reduces the TQ and HP output. I’m assuming same goes for the S5?

Very nice editing straight to the races but with all clear mods and info on the cars. Even the long pause before and after the race.👌

RS3 is top dog here, and it's tuning potential is out of this world with that potent 5 pot!

Rs3 is stage 2 It would be a closer race if all were on stage two I think the golf would give the Rs3 a run for its money. That 2.0 is quite strong.

RS3 is making some serious power to pull that hard

Great races, next one do you have a tuned rs5 to bring to the race. Amazing video and content this is the channel I watch!!

3.5 sec 0-60 and an 11.4 in the 1/4 is pretty slow for a Unitronic stage 2 RS3 even on a 93 tune. Should be closer to high 10s. When I was on a Unitronic Stage 1 93, I ran 3.25 0-60, and 11.2 in 1/4. I am now Stage 2 FBO E85 and it is way faster. I need to get the dragy out and time it again.

Tbh same with the golf R numbers. Those are like the low torque tune numbers rather than full stage 1+ .. something is off

Great drags! Straight to the racing is good. And I like when you tell the story. But always add - "Let's Roll!"

RS3 wins, then idk. Could go either way between the S5 and R depending on if the R has a unlocked TCU to make full HP with the tune

Perfect video - no annoying dialog or music to take away from the sound of these cars.

Would be better if the S5 has the stage 2 TCU tune as well. I think the TCU is still locked for 2022 models.

True. Stage 2 golf R on 93 US octane with a TCU tune (unfortunately, only very early versions of the DSG in R are tunable) is a mid to low 11 sec car. Not bad ...not bad at all.

I think the S5 has an 8-speed automatic

Not really fair to lineup a stage 1 Golf R against 2 other performance vehicles from Audi that are both stage 2 lol ?? Considering the immense power differences the R did quite well given the intentional handicap SMH

All the aftermarket stuff on the golf R is not much help until you install a good downpipe. Have a mk7 stage 2 and you need a downpipe to make these fly

@@Jcastro9444 I thought this having an S3 before but tbh, it's not, had the S5, RS3 and A45s lined up as options but the Stang just rockets 60-120 in a way no other car does, sounds out of this world from the factory and the whole thing shakes when you start it up, just a whole different experience, slower than M4's, C63's, RS3's and tuned Golf R's.... but a 2021 Red and black S550 with the big rear wing and active exhaust not only looks 1000% better but it sounds unreal!

Sam! Very nice lineup. Again, the S5 owner still jumps ahead (he did the same against me in the Stinger and RS5 race). Only in the final drag race, they seem to start at the same time. Love the drone view, would love it for longer to appreciate the whole race from the drown. I would love to be back with my Stinger against this RS3 and perhaps the EV6 GT. Cheers!

It’s a MK8 not MK7. They make right about 390-400 whp with a tune and 420-430 whp on E85 tune only. MK7 R use to make like 360 whp with a tune

@@mqbr22 Stage 1 + ..around 370 AWHP , E85 a bit over 400AWHP. The problem is the TCU...still can't be cracked. What a shame.

I expected the results from the Audis, but what happened to the Golf R. I expected a little more from Stage 1+ intercooler, maybe because its missing a TCU tune.

Not sure who told that golf r he made that much power on those mods.

Doesn't the Golf R with DSG run to 60 in under 4 seconds stock? This Golf seems underpowered for is stated mods.

I know a guy with an R running over 500whp with a hybrid and it’s fast, but his dsg keeps having auto upshift problems (we both assume it’s something to do with his custom tune) during rolls which keeps him from beating my f80 lol. But I can’t even tell you how many times just a FBO rs3 has laid the smack down on my f80. 😂😂

@@OleMisss - A stage 3 includes a hybrid buddy so I doubt he's running that power. If he was hybrid he's missing the TCU tune and then he'd gap your existing F80 easily.

This guy has a vendetta against the Golf R haha we all know it punches above it’s weight but putting a stage 1 up against 2 more powerful cars both with stage 2 tunes isn’t even a race. It’s just there as a joke

Stage 1 plus mk8 R is the same as a stock rs3 , I did 12.10 napierville quater miles , i tried with my friends with his mk7.5 r stage one plus , I beat him by .10 , very impressive for a stage 1 plus golf r , but stage 1 plus rs3 and it’s bye bye ,

in europe the golf 8 r stands up to the audi rs3 both stock because in Europe the Golf 8 R makes 35 hp more than what they should make

@@edmilsonteixeira4793 Both ROW Golf R and NA GOLF R are identical mechanically, and they made the same power on the dyno. In US we use different mechanical HP and torque system of measurement. Google mechanical vs metric HP to help you understand more.

Didn’t have to watch the video, just by looking at the stats of the cars the outcome was obvious. Light weight higher horsepower.

I am reading a lot of unusual comments here from those who know nothong about the RS3. This car is a bullet. A stock RS3 can go head-to-head with a Hellcat. The first time i experienced an RS3 was when i came across an Audi TT RS. And at that time it was the older version with 360 horses, which was super fast. Then audi devided to bump the horses up to 400 horses, to make it even faster.. This little thing is super fast. I had never seen a little car that fast in my life until the TTRS. Except you have one of those hyper cars, the Audi TT RS or RS3 have very few competition. Franky, anyone tuning an RS3 is just crazy. What exactly are you tuning in a car capable of 0-60 in 3.6 seconds from the factory? The RS3 will walk 90% of most cars on the street from the factory. I have always felt that additional tuning of the RS3 will only provide marginal gains.

Actually the last gen RS3 (not the new one ) isn't really that fast stock. Very disappointed in my extensive test driving of this vehicle and the fact that you had to put the car into Sport mode for it to perform quite relatively quickly. It was the main reason why I didn't buy the RS3 in July. Sure it's hella quick once tuned even on the stock engine and turbo but it's just that - you need to tune for it to be fast. BTW I am running 3.6 to sixty in my stage 3 Golf R with the stock IS38 turbo and EA888 engine. It's on my YT channel and since then I got a 3.59 to boot which is in my IG!

Why dont yall let the cars do the shifting lol

S5 is the only one permanent awd, the other two are "bullshit awd" or "permanent fwd" type of awd. From there it cames very small amount of transmission loose after launch. ANYONE which need an audi for daily use, especially in could or snowy/rainy weather will choose that s5 from the bunch... or better an rs4 wagon, for utility :D
