T5 bulb

My LEDs in the map and dome are dim when activated with an open door, but are fully bright when I manually turn them on with the doors closed. Any idea why?

Good video, what year is your Tundra? I understand the dash lights on certain 1st generation Tundra’s are soldered in.

2001, I believe 04 and up have soldered dash lights.

05 definitely does have soldered in speedo panel

Links for the bulbs? Where did you get the 31mm for the dome light?

They actually run cooler than the stock ones, no issues so far!

Looks great.. Is this a 2000 Tundra..Thats what I have...Also is there a led for the key ignition spot? I was going to do Ice blue but the white looks clean ..thanks

This is a 2001 Toyota Tundra but I do not think the bulb sizes change between years. There is a LED for the ignition spot but I didn’t want to dig into that at the time. You may have to check bulb sizes for ignition if you plan to do it, it does seems like a decently quick replacement if you do it too.

I tried testing the led's and all of a sudden the interior lights don't turn on and radio doesn't work. Is it a blown fuse? If so how do I install the LED's without blowing a fuse?

I guess it depends, what area did you install the LEDs? Like just the overhead ones or did you do the HVAC ones aswell?

@@totheextreme I got the led's today and I just wanted to test them before actually doing the entire cabin of my 2000 Tundra. I tested the map lights above my head and it worked. i put back the original map light afterwards. I then moved onto the dome light and this is where everything started to go wrong. I took out the old dome light an put the new led in and it worked but wanted to make sure the other ones in the same size worked as well and they did. Then when I went to put the dome cover back on I checked the map lights with the original lights to make sure they work and then boom, I got nothing. I went to check the dome light with the good bulbs and nothing worked. I then started the car up to make sure it would run and it did. Then I went to turn on my radio and I got nothing. Now I checked the fuse where the hood and driver side and I'm still trying to figure out what is going on. If it does come down to a fuse, how would I be able to install the LED's without this happening again?

@@kiddoekayasitt9825 This is an interesting problem, I checked on some forums about interior LED swaps just now and a person has a similar issue to what you described. He said “Remove the battery cables before installing. had this problem. Was shorting out the fuse will placing the led bulb in.” I would just try to find the blown fuse and replace it, and install the new lights next time without battery connected to the car.

@@totheextreme Ok, thanks! I'm looking at videos from different cars and some people had a fuse that would control the list of problems I had and it worked for them. If the fuse was the issue, would you recommend me installing the lights including the gauge and hvac without the battery connected? Do i leave the fuses in?

@@kiddoekayasitt9825 Yeah I would probably install the new fuse and make sure everything works again, then disconnect the battery to install the rest of them just to be safe.

I replaced my dome and map lights with LEDs. The only problem is now they don't turn on when i open my doors like they used too. They only turn on if I manually turn them on. Any solutions???

Not exactly sure how to fix this, make sure the dome light is set auto setting not just on or off, mine works intermittently when I open the door.

I guess I forgot to put the clip of the metal part in the video lol, but it should go in the exact same way with the new LEDs. If you take out the metal part, it just makes the LEDs light up the cab a bit more.

What company did you order these bulbs, and do they come as a kit for all replacement.
