'Tumors just vanished': Cancer patients now in remission after drug trial

Treatment with the immunotherapy dostarlimab showed promising results in a small trial of more than a dozen rectal cancer patients, according to new research, but further study is needed and it is too early to call it a cure. CNN's Erin Burnett speaks to Dr. Andrea Cercek, an oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Here's even better news: The same type of results are available with a simple substance that costs almost nothing. This has been known for many years. But there's no money in it for the pharma/medical establishment, so they let people suffer and die while they look for a money-maker. One clinic in Tempe Arizona has used this simple substance to treat all forms and stages of cancer with a 90% success rate, and I have seen two friends who were "terminal" fully recover in a few months of using this substance. Because, you see, cancer can exist ONLY in an acidic environment. Which is why BAKING SODA CURES CANCER! One friend who was terminal put a single teaspoon in about four ounces of water three times a day until the cancer was gone, and takes a single teaspoon a day thereafter to keep his body alkaline. (The typical American diet consists mostly of ACID-forming foods including meats, grains and processed junk, which is why we have so much cancer. In general, vegetables are alkaline-forming, especially RAW ones.) Want to know more? Click and ye shall find. GOD's prophet, the prophesied return of Elijah, has spoken in these end times.

Why are there so many people like this in the comments of news videos. This drug is doing amazingly in clinical trials, and is actually already available under the name Jemperli. Cancer isn't one disease, it's a class of many complex diseases. What works for one type may not for another. Cancer treatment gets better and better every year, with earlier detection and lower rates of mortality.

Rectal cancer is so difficult to treat due to none of the drugs out there working and operations being very complicated to the point that they cannot be used on many patients. Cancer is a trillion dollar industry. So, until governments and elites want it to go away, it won't all be cured. Sure, there will be cures here and there, but nothing comprehensive. There is a chance governments and elites may change their focus one day, then all cancer will be cured at a rapid pace.

Playing devil's advocate to your reply, the more people we help the more people stay alive. The more drain that is on Society, resources, and everything else. It's really sad to say, but a certain percentage of death kind of keep the planet healthy. We're just not built to handle what we already have. Humans are already over running the Earth. We're destroying it. We don't really need more we need less. It's kind of a sad double-edged sword of these advancements.

Watched this through tears and a happy heart. Lost my father to cancer last August. He was treated by a team of kind and brilliant doctors at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Their experimental treatments and trials helped him live 12 good, long years with stage 4 colon, liver and lung cancer and ultimately leukemia. He loved life, he loved his doctors and nurses- med techs, receptionists, security guards- pretty much everyone who cared for him at MSK. They got to know him pretty well, as he's a total character and people person. We literally couldn't keep him out of the hospital, even when it had become clear there was nothing more they could do! I know he's smiling down now, cheering on these researchers and hoping many people will benefit!!! Love you Dad. Miss you so much.

If the change is large, a small sample is all one needs to increase the confidence level. A smaller change requires much larger sample size to get the same confidence level. That is why in medical literature, often another parameter is reported, which combines the effect of sample size and magnitude of change. It is denoted as n, which is a measure of probability that such a result is fluke. Lower this value, more effective the treatment. They did not report this n value, but I believe it is very small, because all 14 patient has nearly 100 percent change.

In addition, I hope they don't sell out to anyone who seeks to buy it out and shelf it so that they can continue to profit off of treatment products. I had exactly this cancer surgically removed 5 years ago. 25 straight days of radiation treatments, 8 months of strong chemo and a six hour surgery. With the help and and attention of great doctors, nurses, hospital staff and family I did survive. (My dog helped too!) I am very fortunate, I met other patients who lost this battle. And my health has been permanently affected by the chemo and surgery, I get tired more easily and have to wear a colostomy bag for the rest of my life. And I am one of the fortunate. Thanks to all that helped me, And thanks to the dedicated doctors that developed this wonderful treatment. Bless you.

My doc wants me to start a different immunotherapy trial by the end of this month which may make me ineligible for this trial. It might be $5k/month which i cannot afford no matter how hard i try and also I can't get access to this until it becomes standard treatment which can take longer than I have left.

One was using the immune system like this, another was a bacteria or virus or something that could only survive on a protein specific to that type of cancer, and I didnt understand a word he said when he talked about the other 2. One of em has over 30 ppl in remission. The research team he was on won a nobel prize. @@chocomilo1628 Explain to me right now how this makes anyone "lose hope" about cancer treatment. It just literally gave everyone hope. What are you smoking? We havent heard of any significant advances on cancer treatment in ages, its always been chemotherapy which is horrible to put your body through, destroying your hair where you'll likely not even gain the same hair back. I agree the sample size is small enough where it could be a statistical fluke but I dont even see how you could possibly make an argument this makes people "lose hope" to new & real cancer treatment. Those 14 people who had their cancer cells destroyed & have a new lease on life sure dont feel like this is a "not real" treatment. Like what are you even trying to virtue signal & try to be elitist about? _"I'm the real one here about cancer treatments & watch me grandstand & s*** all over their success!"_ Pfft 14 people just got saved from DEATH! It didnt only help a little, it completely destroyed their cancer tumors. Using your own immunity system to boot. How's this not a potential improvement to chemotherapy? I bet you wouldnt say this to those cancer patients faces that their life has been saved by a fake treatment that destroys hope for "real" cancer treatments. Their cancer was treated & is gone, like gtfo. People have hope from this, even those who had cancer take away their loved ones

The "breakthrough" came long ago. Because, the same type of results are available with a simple substance that costs almost nothing.

True, especially given the lack of job stability and poor financial return on the incredible number of years of training required. I’ve met a lot of bitter young scientists in the last few decades that feel like their dedication and altruism were badly abused by the university and industry pipeline. Many have given up on the research rat race after having sacrificed their youth, health, and opportunity to raise a family to it.
