Re-Volcano.... Somethings going on at "The Research Center" 🤔 and there is a fantastic poster of "King's Mountain" on the bathrooms, Plus they haven't torn down a small 6x10x8 door section that was originally part of the original mountain on the side of Reptilian. Plus the refurbishment of Mt. Kilimanjaro. (on another note) Sadly, I don't think Anaconda will make it through the next year or 2... Such low attendance. Cameras have been long gone for years, and every year, attendance declines. So that is another prime spot for another epic coaster (On the plus side)

What has become of KD?

My first thought was OH COOL FINALLY KD HAS A ZACSPIN however uh I just realized this replaced the crypt and all my hope was dashed. Volcano and the crypt are long gone now, I'm so disappointed. The zacspin doesnt even have that many spins to it, seems like it just moves you up or down but never a full spin. This might be worse than six flag's green lantern.

What makes you think this is an intamin zacspin? This is an S&S technologies freespin.

Very poor replacement to the Crypt. The Crypt had a huge capacity, long ride time, great theming, and multiple flips and turns. Tumbili has very poor capacity, lasts about 3 seconds, minimal theming, and I only flipped once. The park should have kept the Crypt, it was one of my favorite rides in the park.

its actually a great replacement they do the same thing except tublili is on a track and isn't painful unlike crypt. yeah the crypt had great capacity and a longer ride time but barely anybody rode it and it was painful. I see where you are coming from with the theming cause the fire and water elements on crypt were great but the theming around tumbili is pretty good and the music going up the lift hill adds to the experience. and the flipping depends on what row and side you sit on and how much weight is on the train. and at the end of the day Coaster > Flat ride.

The "Theming" of Crypt was falling apart... By the time of its closing it was just a ride, with themed sounds that didn't match the crumbling 2045 aesthetic of a modern city. Although it was a great ride... sometimes you gotta let stuff go. It was no more than a malfunctioning Berserker by the time they decided to send it back to the Aztek times. Basically what we got was a re-vamped Crypt on a track... and having ridden both.... It is a great replacement. It's the Crypt inside of a themed roller coaster. Its could have though, gone to Candy Apple Grove and been renamed like "The Spoiled Apple" or like "Crabapple" or something... Whatever 🤷

A very substandard ride to go in Volcano’s spot… with something as revolutionary and exciting as Volcano was, I was expecting Kings Dominion to come harder than this… very disappointed 😑. Note: (I am speaking for myself only and this is MY opinion)

A fat, Long and Tall L... But it didn't replace Volcano.... That's the great part.... Kings Dominion has a heritage of bringing the newest and wildest coasters to the east coast. Don't be so sour about the Volcano... Volcano was way ahead of its time. If they would have waited a couple years, Volcano would still be a thing. Volcano was only a prototype, and couldn't keep up with its repair demands, on top of how difficult it was to repair. Intimin built a lot of "Firsts" and Volcano was probably the most ambitious "First". Remember Hypersonic XLC? Another "First" our park was plagued with. Us Virginians are the guinea pigs for the rest of the world.... Feel proud about that 💪

Volcano already has a replacement coming in 2023 or 2024, It’s a wing launched rollercoaster very similar to “Thunderbird” in Holiday World Indiana. I personally think that this will be a very good replacement for volcano considering there are very few wing launched coasters in America

So many “enthusiasts” are complaining about this. It is utterly ridiculous kings Dominion gave you 2 coasters that you love and it didn’t increase attendance. They are freaking giving you a coaster after a pandemic.

Thats because overall the park is garbage. Busch Gardens down the road opened Pantheon during the pandemic and they still dont need to worry about attendance problems. And yes its still a pandemic until the goons at the cdc and NIH say its over. Were always going to deal with it so please dont say "after a pandemic"

Kings Dominion has an above average lineup and intimidator 305 that is better than every single Bush Gardens coaster and that includes iron Gwazi. I don’t get all the bitching. Go to Michigan’s Adventure and tell me they are neglected.

@@JJJJ-he8bz pantheon is so much better than i305. I305 is fun the first couple times and then you get a pounding headache. That wouldn’t be a problem if they had more than 3 good rides there. All they have is i305, twisted timber and flight of fear going for it. Dominator is boring. Busch gardens has a broader line up of rides, more rides (which are all repainted and well taken care of), and better theming. I used to think KD was better than Hershey park but now Hershey park destroys KD, especially with the new RMC wildcat coming out. Funds are running dry for KD and it’s very clear. KD is not a priority for cedar fair.

There is another ride exactly like this at Six Flags Great Adventure and it’s called “The Joker”.

oh god why are they still making these. horrible capacity with incredibly short ride itme, inconsistent results per rider, and one of the most uncomfortable coasters I've ever rode on. There's good reasons why many parks eventually removed this from their parks.

I don’t think any of the S&S 4D Free Spins have been removed. The similar ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain that was removed was an Intamin Zacspin coaster.

Tbh I was surprised by the relatively quick load time on Tumbili. Also, it wasn’t uncomfortable for me but I know that varies greatly 🤷🏻‍♂️. Not a bad addition imo, especially if we get an E-ticket in Jungle X-Pedition. -Andrew
