Asad Amanat Ali Khan PP was a Pakistani classical vocalist and ghazal singer belonging to the Patiala Gharana tradition of music.He began singing professionally after completing his FA (two year degree) He rose to prominence after singing his father's popular ghazal, Insha Ji Utho which subsequently featured in almost every live concert he performed. He performed traditional classical music as part of the very successful singing duo with his uncle, Hamid Ali Khan, in the 1970s and 1980s performing not only in Pakistan and India but also in the United States, Canada, The Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, and Switzerland.
Like his father before him, Khan is credited with demystifying and simplifying complex classical ragas and adapting them for easy listening, thereby boosting their popularity and appeal among contemporary audiences.
Khan worked for Pakistan Television for many years and performed over 1,000 songs on live television. Nisar Bazmi, composer and PTV producer, who died one week before him, gave him his first break in live television singing. Khan also sang for a number of Pakistani movie soundtracks.

A superb artist. Blessed with a beautiful 'teep' , his voice soared effortlessly in the higher registers. Gone at an age considered to be a classical vocalist's prime. RIP.

What does 'teep' in voice mean?
Asad Amanat Ali Khan is a great singer from a great music family. I met him three or four times, and all the meetings were such that I could not forget him. During the conversation in those meetings, I never felt that I was talking to such a great artist. Asad Amanat Ali Khan Sahib was very humble and recalcitrant in nature. It is not known till today the heart is not ready to accept that this great singer is no longer among us. May Allah forgive Asad Amanat Ali Khan and raise his ranks [Amen Ya Rab-ul-Alameen].
اسد امانت علی خان موسیقی کے عظیم گھرانے سے تعلق رکھنے والے عظیم گلوکار ہیں۔ میری ان سے تین چار بار ملاقات ہوئی اور تمام ملاقاتیں ایسی تھیں کہ میں انہیں بھول نہیں سکتا تھا۔ ان ملاقاتوں میں گفتگو کے دوران مجھے کبھی محسوس نہیں ہوا کہ میں اتنے بڑے فنکار سے بات کر رہا ہوں۔ اسد امانت علی خان صاحب کی طبیعت میں بہت عاجزی اور انکساری تھی۔ پتہ نہیں آج تک دل ماننے کو تیار نہیں کہ یہ عظیم گلوکار اب ہم میں نہیں رہا۔ اللہ تعالیٰ اسد امانت علی خان کی مغفرت فرمائے اور درجات بلند فرمائے [آمین یارب العالمین]۔
Ustad Asad Ali Khan was the best classical singer in whole of world....Surendra Pratap from Australia.
Assad was my young age memory ....I was always impressed by his GAIKI though still can't understand it's technicalities ....Assad was a beautiful charming young man with a golden heart
