That siren was eerie. Not like the typical tornado sirens. Three days w/o power...A real ordeal for Tulsa and surrounding areas...

Three days! We went 5 without!!

It’s amazing how in 7 minutes it went from simply a siren and some insect sounds to absolute chaos. This is a great example of just how fast weather can change!!

That storm would have spooked me for sure. Several points in the video show power flashing, especially around 5:47. I assume those sirens have to be on back up power, if most of that area kept going out.

@@StormChaserMaci. Still, it would be best if the tornado sirens were running on RTGs. There are some remote weather stations in Russia that run on RTG power. *RTG:* Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator. These generators can last for literally DECADES.

I'm on the west side too. It was eerie as hell, since there wasn't a tornado watch or warning. Nope, derecho. Pushed our shit in, we were without power for 7 days.

I think I know why the power is flickering so "easily": because, at that point, the destructive winds were already blasting the area immediately to the west of the Arkansas River. Because the PSO Power Station is at the West Bank of the Arkansas River, I believe this means that the majority of Tulsa's transmission power lines are also west of the Arkansas River. Those lines were already been torn down by the destructive winds BEFORE said winds arrived in the part of Tulsa that the video was recorded in.

We had something like 100mph straight-line winds blow through, and most transmission lines here are above-ground. I went inside after the power went out but it sounded significantly worse at that point.

What part of Tulsa ? it look`s South Tulsa !

Yes and I feel that south Tulsa shouldn’t lose power easily because neighborhoods like that their power is underground

I was noticing at first your little group of homes are on different circuits as the one was flickering and then the one across the street flickerd then yours did all before the 2min mark interesting 🤔
