Tuesday Tidbits, January 24, 2023: Quick Tips and Tricks for Quilting With Flannel

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

We LOVE sewing with flannel - especially on a nice snowy, winter day! There's nothing better than snuggling up with a flannel quilt on a winter day!
This week we have a couple of beautiful flannel quilts that, truly, are super easy to make. We're starting off with a flannel jelly roll, adding a couple of accent fabrics and next thing you know, you're singing - "Well, the weather outside is frightful..." (I know you're singing along with us!)
We have kits available for both quilts and this week, we're adding a few more Orphan quilt kits to the website. This is a lovely time to get some sewing done!
See you next week!

My first time watching your videos. Love you two. You remind me of my own sister/best friend and I. Thanks. Any suggestions for using flannel on the back of my cotton quilt top?

I would be concerned about shrinkage with pre cut flannel. Flannel is the one fabric I prewash before a project because it shrinks so much!

How long did it take to rub all of the yellow off of your ruler? When will you replace it? (I assume it is a favorite...)

😂😂. You don’t know how many times we say bad words when using that ruler! We’ve probably been using it for upwards of 10 years, and yeah, it really needs replacing. M
