I found something absolutely crazy yesterday! It's a nickel size piece of fire Obsidian with moldavite and there are tiny crystals sticking out of it that are every color of the rainbow. At first glance I thought I found a meteorite but I'm not disappointed as it is so much more interesting. To bad it wasn't bigger bc it would be a show stopper but I'm none the less happy with it.

I think the slab you pick up at about 9:13 is Schalenblende. I bought a slab of that at a gem show in Eastern Washington and couldn’t believe my eyes when I first saw it. I ended up cutting it and it crumbled up like crazy, so I stabilized the remaining bits and cabbed them. In retrospect I wish I hadn’t cut it up, but at least now I know how crumbly it is. That slab was from Poland, but you’re right - it’s found in several different European countries. The metal component, I believe, is Galena. And the orange/yellow bands are not jasper - those are sulfides.

Your statements about Tanzanite are pretty wild (and wrong). Tanzanite is a variety of Zoisite but the vanadium and sometimes chromium in the crystal structure makes Tanzanite much different from standard zoisite varieties. Almost all Tanzanite is heat treated to get the blue color but you can't "fake" tanzanite by just heat treating a zoisite. The only known deposit of Tanzanite is in the Merelani Hills region of Tanzania. Tanzanite is pleochroic and hasn't been reproduced yet in a lab so it's one of the few gems that really can't be faked because all you need is a Hanneman Tanzanite filter to quickly weed out any non Tanzanite.
I think those might be pieces of a Czech Republic tank that was blown to pieces.
