Love this. I can't believe how good this sounds in the circumstances.

My son was 5yrs old when one of the members of the band picked him up over his head on stage. The venue had a wall that was too tall for my son to see over so one of the roadies flipped over a monitor cover and set him on the stage. The joke of the night was that they were " they might be Giants, the band that holds things up" as they went on later the expected. At the end of the show they all held something over their heads as the left the stage. One of the Johns carried my son. I got him back just so you know...

I loved listening to Flood in high school, a punk kid in the nineties in the South- the first thing I ever heard about Chumbawamba was that they were really a kind of anarchist collective

Absolutely TOP 5 in my AV Undercover list. A+. The dreadful becomes delightful.

I honestly think its def one of the best covers, Yea it may not sound as great as the original; but it definitely scratched the surface and had air time on the same level as the original. And the main thing is, they added their own twist, like a signature and a salute to the original and most importantly they had fun and that's what makes the majority of higher spirit songs like this, sound so great. #avclub

The only choice I'll question is who sings which part, I'd have thought Linnell would have taken the female part being that he's naturally the higher singer, but this way round is definitely more memorable.

yeah, the AV Undercover series was taking a turn beforehand but things really went down the toilet when they got bought out and everyone got laid off. They had a couple of new AV Undercover seasons, but they were shot terribly and the songs were ass. A good one from just before the buyout was a shoegaze cover of Linger by the Cranberries.

Holy shit! This might actually be better than the original! Who knew!

I always felt like if they wanted to sit down and figure this out as more than a lark, they could take this fun performance and knock it out of the park. The bassline is killer and the riff they get in the bridge towards the end is classic TMBG.
