Thank You! I´m a composer and working right now on a double bass concerto for a friend. So, I´ve been listening several concertos to get in the mood. This concerto has raised and remained my favourite so far. Of all the performances I´ve heard this is again my favourite one. I like the energy and the clear sound quality of the bass as well as the whole orchestra, the production of the recording is also really enjoyable. Thank You... back to work!

La composición me parece un muermo ya desde un minuto antes de empezar el monólogo del contrabajo en el diez (creo que en el vídeo faltan dos movimientos por indicar). Diría que Tubin se pasó de rosca con la melancolía y el melodrama y hace que el contrabajo articule muy poca emoción (o es que lo hace de forma abstracta) salvo cuando se camufla con la orquesta. 14:02 La viva expresión de la felicidad. :D

I think his musicianship is not very interesting compare to other versions of this concerto, such as the one of Edicson Ruiz. Sound is not very nice (maybe is the recording) but he has a nice right arm technique.

Steven Bourne , in my opinion, (like yours, just an opinion) Edicsson Ruiz recording has a fake post production volume, and in life performances, you can't hear him at all. Great musician...now, speaking about musicality, many of us could also learn from Mr. Zecharies. But, as you know, your and my opinion do not sound as good as this version of the Tubin Concerto. Everybody can have an opinion, not everybody can play the bass.

Hi, thanks for your replay. Im a bass lover, I live in germany and I had the chance to attend to Edicson Ruiz concerts and sorry to tell you that what you are saying that you can't hear him live is actually for me not true or I haven't experienced it and I went to many of his concerts. Im also a sound technician, and I can tell you that the sound here is highly manipulated (this not a critic to this guy, he is free to do whatever with his videos) I wasn't at this concert, but I can tell you that the sound you are listening here is not his real sound plus he has a mic just in front of him, so that tells me that he must have experienced some sound problems there. Again, this is just my opinion, but I still did enjoy more Ruiz performance which I went to see live.

Yo no se cuanto entiendes de música, ni si en verdad eres técnico de sonido, pero temo que andas muy descaminado, el maestro es todo un catedrático en el contrabajo, y en cuanto a lo del micrófono parece mentira que digas que eres técnico en la materia. No se si sabrás, que ese micrófono es para recoger el solo del contrabajo, puesto que se graban los programas con motivo del 25 aniversario de la OSG, no es para la amplificación, como tu quieres insinuar mal intencionadamente con tu comentario.
