Tube Fishing Tricks For Fall Bass (Beginner To Advanced)

Спорт

The Ned Rig has replaced the tube on a lot of fisheries but wise bass fishermen know that the Finesse Tube will always be a staple lure, especially for Fall bass! Tim is giving away his best tricks to catching tube fish including how change fall rate, fall angle, actions, shapes, colors, and more! Get ready to learn everything you need to know about bass fishing with a tube.
So many anglers think of a tube as a 1-dimensional lure that catches lethargic bass. This could not be farther from the truth! It works great for lethargic bass but its also an effective tool when snapped for shallow bass, spiraled for suspended bass, or hopped in deep water. Once you learn the many uses for a finesse tube you'll always want to have one close by.
While ultralight light and small tubes is the "norm", don't be afraid to step out and fish the bigger tubes on heavier gear, even casting rods. When it comes to equipment, a heavy tube is no different than fishing a jig, shaky head, or Texas rig. Below you'll find a break down of the different baits, colors, heads, and equipment that Tim uses to fish his tubes.
The baits...
-Dry Creek Tournament Tube: bit.ly/2cJwI6r

Tim, Thanks for the instruction. I bought a pack of tubes about 10 years ago and am still working on the same pack. That explains how oftenI use a tube and how confident I am in using one.I feel like I do not know how to rig one. I almost exclusively use plastic so you would think a tube would fit right in. I have watched a dozen KZread videos on how to rig and fish a tube yet I get on the water and get stupid about it. I think I can use what you taught and put it to work this weekend when I hit the water. I am trying to break out of my habits and try different things. I have a lot of tackle yet only use a very narrow amount of it.

Years ago I'd use tube baits to catch saltwater fish in my area. Halibut and saltwater bass loved brown color or black at night. The last couple of years people have been using hook up baits and going crazy/raving about them. They are really use to fish because Hook up baits are essentially overpriced tube jigs with garlic sent.

I really like the big bite salty tube. As the name says it’s a very salty tube. But for such a salty plastic it’s very tough. It’s not going to tear up for a good few fish. Have you ever tried ringing the tube backwards so that you pull against the tentacles? I have used it that way for a lot of years and it works very well. Instead of ringing it with a standard tube hook you rig it with a ewg ... I use usually a 2/0 or a 3/0 ought depending on the size of the tube.

Fla. I would try the fat Ika because of its weightless rigging. It will fish on top of the green stuff. Rig it regular if your going over cover and backwards if you want to go in the cover. #4 gami EWG. No Senko cache' should be without some Ika's. When the senko bite slows try the Ika to show them something different. Delta & Clear Lake is the only salad fishing we got besides small ponds. Mostly steep & deep rock in Corrupt, Ca.

Search "stupid tube" in KZread. Its actually the only version of a tube I catch fish with. I'm sure it being weedless plays a big part of it simply cuz I'm able to make more casts without getting snagged.

In Ca. we just don't rig them in front of T.....immy! Oh, hey. We were just talking about you... He was asking about how we rig our Tube Baits weedless.....I was telling him that rigging them any other way would be wrong. Say, did you know that Tim works for the Ca. Department of Fish & Wildlife? Thats an armed law enforcement officer but with statewide jurisdiction. And yes, while they protect fish & wildlife they can also do regular police type stuff. I bet you didn't know that? Marc here is from Texas, I'm guessing. Well, I gotta go to church now so I'll be running along. Remember, tugs not drugs. Heh. @Michael A-1 Appreciate the encouragement, man. I don't think the problem is the lakes.. Part of the problem is they're in northern Cali with rock and sand bottoms, 60' deep lakes with 100' holes, while I'm in central Florida with nothing but muck bottoms, where 12' is a deep lake and a 20' holes are rare. Their lessons still apply, but it's a very different situation.

I do a lot of river fishing in central Ohio for Smallmouth, and have had a ton of success with the TRD tubez. I rig it weedless or woodless because I get a lot of bigger fish on lay downs. I use a 1/16oz. XPS tungsten ball head 1/0 ewg hook and rig it with the hook point inside the hollow portion of the tube. Gotta be careful with that 5lb sniper floro around the wood but t;hey get bit. I just with they had more colors. My fish really like that green pumpkin orange available in the TRDs, and TRD Crawz. link.fishbrain.com/zF3g

I’m not understanding what you mean by the hook point being INSIDE the hollow part??? Do you mean “texsposing” the point ? Thank....I’m new to tune fishing and bass fishing itself really

@@SaulTeebolz I thread an EWG style hook with a tungsten ball weight head through the tip of the tube and out the side. I use a size hook that the barb end can be placed inside the hollow portion of the tube past the tentacles.

You have to buy the weedless jigs that have the wire that goes under the hook not the one that sticks straight out. I have a bunch and fish in FL so i need weedless. If i remember I'll send the only company that I found, sells them.
