thnx for the presentation. It is important for us young tongans in muli. We connect with our history thanks to these speeches. Some of us in muli don't have the privilege of growing up in our native cultural environment.

@@teodelo1816 this presentation is clearly our Tongan brothers coping with what we've always known... Tongans sailed from Samoa. Ahoeitu was Samoan. The current dynasty of Tonga, Tui Aano-o-Upolu (flesh of Upolu) is Samoan.
I'm an overseas Tongan born and raised and I understand the language so was able to watch the whole thing. The man who first spoke about the Tu'i Tonga line was probably my favorite cause he presented well and sounded funny. If the others were funny I probably would of liked them too. God bless.

Love this video so much, it's really takes you back to the Island we all loved.I was born in Tonga grow up there before I migrated overseas with my family,I grew up in Hihifo and Ma'ufanga,it was really a blessing to me course I know exactly every where and every places that's been said here.A lot of people in the oldest generation is a bit shy in saying something in English course what they are saying may be broken, this was great it's really pinpoint the places and the meaning to those places, their roles, the people that looks after those places, areas and what they are used for,it tells you how we Tongan were builted.Every Tongan in Tonga know their places, know their roles, their responsibility, what's not to do and what to do.These responsibility it wasn't just built up today it goes back to generation after generation before white man even step foot in our land,I am residing in Australia now have kids of my own I am lucky enough to write down all the important stuff and please they mentioned here and nearly everything in Tongan so I can slowly translate in English for them so that when they grow up they are able to know their history, their ancestors where they live and their roles to the king and the land, explain it to them so they know, even if they live here they should be proud of who they are, what their ancestors been through to build and maintain Tonga to keep history alive" it tells us who we are", 'Ofa lahi atu ki he Hou'eiki mo e kainga, famili mo e maheni he tapa kotoa pe 'o e Kolope, leveleva heni tau toki sio, tu'a'ofa atu Mālō.

oh yeah for samoa and the other polynesian islands, there wasn’t really any fighting back bc yk they were like the same people… if it was Fijians tho they would’ve fought back the moment they landed, but in samoa they didn’t really fight back at first bc the Tongans were peaceful and yk we’re the same ppl… it was only a certain part of samoa they ruled over too and ut was only until this one Tui Tonga started treating them harshly, then they fought the Tongans and the Samoans and Samoan family members who supported the Tui Tonga were ate by the cannibal king Malietoa Faiga

Keep in mind Tu'i Tonga era there are over 50 that's known before the Tu'i Ha-a Takala'ua (1600) and the Tu'i Kanokupolu(1800) era. One of the instructors mention a road(Hala Fonuamoa) in the old Tongan times named after the Moa of New Zealand which was brought to the Tu'i Tonga in the (12th-13th century). It was the late (1600-1800) Tonga was documented by the outsiders. Tonga's history was only mentioned through words, myths, naming of events and places; culture dances and tradition. They mention that going back in time is travelling to a foreign world which is a speck in a long undocumented string of history. They all have mention these countries that paid tribute(Inasi) and Polopolo(Harvest) to the Tu'i Tonga at the time: Fisi(Fiji), Ha'amoa(Samoa), Uvea, Tuvalu, Tahiti, Solomone(Solomon), Niue and Tokelau. They also mention a Tu'i Tonga that also gave his offsprings to these foreign countries with his name(Tafeta) that still can be found there including Marques and Hawaii. One of the instructor was mentioning two important harbors during the 11th-12th century. First harbor(felekie) where the Ha'amoa(Samoans) will bring abundance of kiekie and another harbor(Utukakai) where the Tokelauan's and other countries will bring big stones or heavy cargo for the Tu'i Tonga. They mention all these outsiders bringing tribute and so as the Tongans themselves would not walk up straight but slide(heke) as a sign of respect to the Tu'i Tonga at the time. They also mentioned that the Tu'i Tonga's guards(Hala-Fa) were untrusted by the Tu'i Tonga at times which he will bring Samoans and Fijians closer. Assassination's of the Tu'i Tonga is common.

Fiji , Vanuatu Tuvalu were under TuiTonga.....Captain Cook journal !mentioned he saw people who appeared to be African descent in attendance of inasi ceremony July of 1777

Tui Tonga comes from Manu’a eastern side of Samoa, Whole pasefika was under Samoa Atoa translating to All Samoa. Made out of 6 Islands, SAMOA,TONGA,FIJI,RAROTONGA,TAHITI,OAHU, well respected historian Dr okustino mahina and Dr Opeti Taliai stated the same thing and is also writing a book called RE-examining Tongan history, the only reason why most Tongans don’t know this, is because queen salote basically let Tongan history begin with her family.
