I like how Prototype Jack loses nuts and bolts any time he does a "gun discharge" move or flies. Very nice attention to detail. His "shut down and reboot" animation during idle stance deserves mentioning, too.

I love that this video exists. Just wanted to say that 1+2~1+2, U1+2, B2(charge), U+F1(Charge), FF2 (Charge), and D+F1+2 also had different animations involving the arms or torso spinning

P. Jack was a far more interesting character in Tag 2. Wouldn't have minded seeing these character "take turns" over iterations.

Prototype jack had an unique customization item, it was actually good for combo ender, it's some kind of hook you can put on his back

Yeh that's a good shout, I just didn't include item moves across the board really, since it's not really usable in competitive play, it used to do a lot more damage than normal enders but it was patched out

I think they had different u1+2 animation. prototype jack sort of spins with his upper body while doing the move and Jack does a normal one

You're right. Prototype Jack had so many nice variations on his moves.

You missed out their hitboxes. P Jack had less range on the b322 string so it would whiff in some staple combos that Jack could do.

Really like p.jacks animations. Would love to see them bring back his tekken 1 design haha.

The ways they implemented P. Jack's rotating hands and limbs are so clever. The throws especially look great. (I'm partial to the tag throw he does with Dr. B)

Man, we need P. Jack back only with respectable frames. Those less human moves leaning into the mechanised angle, unrestricted by biological limitations, is so cool to see. Great video btw, very comprehensive.

I was thinking the same. Jack 7 fights like a human. Alisa fights like a robot should fight, but Jack doesn't. Just seems strange to me. P jack had way more robot looking moves

I actually did not know that Prototype Jack's "Dark Greeting" was a mid. Cool!

Lmao everyone's favorite tag team was the Kings fyi. That was was the most played team in Tag 2

I used to main gunjack in 3 and tag tournament, played those for years, when i tried tag tournament 2 he was so different that i cant play as him any more, same with 7

4:15 what is the point of that move? Is it safe on block? Seems sooooo slow but I see jacks use it, they usually do it meaty at the wall tho, like Frankensteiner. I'm thinking it's like king db4 or Frankenstein where it doesn't really matter if your minus becuase grounded

So when you tagged in, your character was vulnerable to being punished, but you could cut the tagging in animation with any moves you want So PJack's b1+2 was an auto block taunt, which meant if the opponent tried to punish you with a high/mid on your tagging in, then you would just block the attempted punishes, depended on the chars what moves were good on tagging in.

Jack is one of the simplest to play

I didn't even know that Dark Greeting was different for both of them. Lol Jack's is a high while P-Jack's was a mid... who would have known 😂 Should of have pointed out that one of the key differences between them is that Jack has extendable hands if you hold down the appropriate punch button (for uf+1*, b+1,1*, b+3,2,2*, b+2* and db+2*) while P-Jack just rotates his hand and gives the attack more power (as does Jack) but without actually extending his arm at all Jack was the better robot but P-Jack had the stronger Debugger low lol (not just because of the second hit, but also the first hit of his version was a CH launcher on its own)

Another reason why Jack is better is because he has more range than P.Jack, he has better hitboxes. P.Jack is just a short range Jack with shittier frame data on most of his moves.

At least it's consistent. Prototype Jack's range in Tekken Tag Tournament 1 was garbage.

Prototype Jack had wayyy more personality imo. His animations look a bit more unique and even his idle animation is just perfect with the rotating hand. It's kinda sad that they replaced so many dope charcters from Tekken 2 with their respective successors.

I honestly prefer Prototype Jack over the main line Jacks for that same reason. I would have loved for him to have returned in a canon game.

@@JunKazamaFan Agreed. Honestly, I would love to have a revamped Tekken game which only includes the charcters from the original console days(all the chars up until TTT). Obviously, with updated graphics and movesets. That way, we could have all the old school fighters back without having to worry about the roster beeing too bloated, or having to worry about the canon storyline. I want characters like Michelle, Kuni, P.Jack or Jun to have their spotlights again.

Great video bruh. To be honest I think the moves prototype jack has are way more awesome than Jack. Its just that design of prototype is not the greatest, I feel like we could just turn him into a more nancy type robot character, just my opinion.
