The video shows how to fit the standard Teikei Y30P carburettor on a Yamaha TTR250.

Thanks I managed to get it done with some help from my 26-year-old daughter and her small hands 😅
Thanks for taking the time to make this. It was very helpful! Hope you had a nice ride with the mates!

Thanks for the positive feedback - much appreciated ;-)
Thank you
Sorry viewers but I forgot to connect up the drain pipe at the bottom of the carb. Best to do that whilst the carb is still loose else it's a bit tricky....
Hi mate. Loved the video. Do you have any ideas on why my ttr250 won't start and stay running once it has. Just spent £900 they did the generator and rectifyer also a carb rebuild. There seems to be a lot of gunk in the air pipes. They changed the filter ..... I have changed and the spark plug. Just running out of ideas and money. Sorry for asking this. But have been watching your videos and very informative. When it does start it backfires and cuts out ???

Hi David. Sorry to hear of your TTR problems. I will certainly try and help but this would be better done on the TTR250 Forum. Can you pose your question there please? Go to ttr250.activeboard.com/
So after putting the carburetor back together I lost a screw to the piece of the frame that you have to remove to take out the air box. Our frame is a tad bit different on that part. I can’t find the right screw online, maybe you can help? Id probably have to send you a picture so you can understand what I mean, I’m really new to this.

@@briansussex I have fuel leaking from the fuel shutoff valve when I put it in reserve. Any ideas on why and what I can do to fix it? Any info is greatly appreciated.

@@keenenwoodford5454 You need a new rubber gasket and to clean up the mating faces before fitting it. Standard Yamaha part or after market kit will sort it ;-)
I couldn't see any gas when you manipulated the throttle near the beginning.

Hi Jim. I assume you mean that you didn't see petrol squirting from the accelerator jet nozzle. It doesn't show very well in the video but I assure you it worked ;-)

Absolutely. I've done this twice now. Your help on the ttr250activeboard is how I did it the first time. I just had to clean my carb again after a bit of sand ingestion and the bike wouldn't run. Basically I watched to make sure I did it the same as you. No worries, thanks for the video!
No Offence. I have taken mine off and put it back on many times easily with removing anything. It helps if the tank is off as then you can get to the cables but thats it.

No offence taken ;-) I have not been as lucky as you and have in the past struggled to remove the carb with the airbox on. I managed to damage the stub on one occasion by forcing it and the rubber part separated from the aluminium section. It only takes an extra few minutes to remove/replace the airbox and makes the whole job so much easier IMO.
