TTC replacing something that works, with something that doesn't.

Yeah, what’s the point? They say they don’t care about the money, and it’s about the customers, the customers don’t WANT the new streetcars, yet, they are still being hungry for money.

Just like the Replacing the GM buses and replacing the 2002-2005 Orion 7’s with Novabus LFS’es is a huge waste of taxpayers money!

And the automatic bus announcements with the computerized voice is also a big money waster when the original announcements sounded human which was more professional than how it is now, TTC is downgrading itself with these little features.

I should also point out to everyone out there, there is the PRESTO-compatible TTC tickets, 1-ride, 2-ride and day pass, which works the same way as is with the green or black PRESTO cards which are reloadable by swiping or tapping on PRESTO readers on subway turnstiles, buses and streetcars, but the TTC tickets are for limited-use only, and not reloadable and can only be used on the TTC, its the concessionary discounted senior/student/youth TTC tickets that are being phased out along with tokens, which will no longer be available for purchase after November 30, 2019.

I stick to tickets in 2018, around 2018 I used tokens throughout 2018-2019 I used my very last token around end of December 2019, beginning of 2020, started using a presto card I love these streetcars since these were the last high floor vehicles, after 2019, it’s all low floor which is better for everyone

well speaking as an occasional TTC rider, personally I prefer presto because whenever my balance runs low it automatically loads 20 bucks on to it and charges my credit card, so I don't have to worry about running out of tokens or change, (plus u figure most regular riders just use passes anyways) I dunno about phasing it out entirely though, I mean for any first time riders or people new to the city they might get dissuaded,

Really, what they should be doing is replacing the streetcars with trackless trollies, or actual electric buses.

@@Packle. With trackless trollies, they can use the same infrastructure as trams, but not get stuck behind cars and trucks because they wouldn't need to stick to rails. And, with trackless trollies, they can share a distributed energy storage system that helps to power them.

@Bonnie Cull For now yes, but I made several requests to the TTC that they should just eliminate the cash fare entirely in favour of PRESTO, and have cash fares banned at all times on all buses and streetcars system-wide.

There are better ways to improve the system. Build more lines. More streetcars. More punctuality. The drivers should not go for a coffee while working and driving. Every city has a better system than to - and they switch to the most useless change and expect a cheer for it. :( sad very sad.
