[TSW] Magic stops trains in Train Sim World 2?!?!?

Ойындар

This is a "live look" at my first time playing Train Simulator World 2! It seems pretty neat so far, but there's definitely a lot of oddities in it... I am sure I was missing something stupid as to why the brake cylinder was stuck applied. Tell me in the comments. :P

I don't think any game has really accurately represented the way EMDs throttle up and its always been the main disappointment for me with train sims because I love that noise so much. The second you move that lever in real life, that engine speeds up quickly and DRAMATICALLY, revs a tiny bit past where its set to, and then settles down to a constant speed as you hear the load increase and see the exhaust smoke thicken. One of the best sounds known to man is a roots blown EMD throttling up. If one cant appreciate this sound, theres something wrong with them mentally 😂 A minute and a half into this video below is exactly what im talking about; You might appreciate this one, Hyce. Reminds me of a big old GM v8 like in your GTO. My favorite video for EMD sounds. An old high hood GP-9 being worked hard kicking cars in the yard, filmed from above so you can really hear that exhaust. I watch this at least once a month 😂 kzread.info/dash/bejne/n4Vho5qbnNmqnLg.html

Unfortunately the sand patch scenarios are not the best - in that last one, the MU2A valve had to be set, and you had to set the switches yourself. I suggest trying out the Clinchfield Railroad route, as it gives you access to EMD F-7 A and B units, high tonnage and steep grades. It is quite fun when you get the hang of it. One thing I realised is that this game needs patience and you need to check almost everything yourself. The independent brakes do usually always work, by the way, I just believe some tutorial scenarios are broken.

I do quite a lot of modding for it (mainly the British content) The route your checking out is actually the first route ever released so its pretty old and as you've seen lacking. The newer routes fare much better in comparison. If your looking for a challenge id really recommend the Sherman Hill route as long as you don't mind waiting 10 minutes for the brakes to release!

Some additional Tips the game doesn't reveal in the Tutorials or Key Bindings. 1) You can make extensive use of the 9 Key to make aligning switches a lot easier since it shows you the path in Light Blue that you need to run on. Click on the Triangle Icon on the Map to change a switch. You can also press 8 and free fly to the switches to set them if you want. 2) You can switch between Cabs without leaving the Engineers seat using Ctrl + = or Ctrl + - on the Keyboard(not Keypad). 3) Also Ctrl + 0 will return you to the last used Engineers seat if you leave the loco. There is a distance limitation to that though, so don't wander too far if you want to quick travel back to the Cab. Edit: Oh and one last thing, that Roll away you had... 3 Step my friend, 3 step!! Or at least 2 Step it. lol

TSW2 is my favourite simulator! I was excited to watch this. Played this on Xbox One when I had GamePass, and shall purchase it soon. The independent works on the Xbox One version. My guess would be you didn't set up the MU-2A valve on the trailing unit, like a lot of others are saying. And the magic of the auto brake setting the handbrakes on the cars... I'll have to verify if it does that on the Xbox One version, because I don't recall it doing that. I used to do a lot of switching on it with the SD40-2 in the semi-'free play' scenario, like A LOT of switching- Love the video! I was secretly hoping you'd stumble upon TSW2, I'd love to see more videos on it!

The valve has to be cut in via the PMD hot keys (buttons along bottom of dash screens) just as well as turning on banking comms (off by default, which remotely runs the rear units as if you're operating them) then doing the full set and release on both the train brake and the independent, at least in my case it makes sure everything releases since I don't roll with the AWS, because I'm always between the head locomotive and the trail locomotive (on the lead end when doing the shunting in yards)

It's when I see the actual professional play games that are suppose to simulate their jobs that I can clearly see that there is a big difference between gamers and actual professionals. Gamers will read up the rule of the game and try to follow them while the job professionals get confused because they see all of the flaws that the game made in comparison to the real deal. Reason I know being a train operator is a lot harder than what the game let's on, no matter how good I get at playing the game/simulator.

Hay Hyce watch the Sandpach grade it has a 2.1% inclime and a decent as well I should know because I stalled on a1.5% inclime and when I was going down grade with a coal drag I had the beacks hard on with no afaict at my first few times playing this game and make shore both cupuers are open when doing the switch jobs if one is open then it will cupue up, if both are closed they would act like buffers. And cupuers are very sensitive I should know because I crashed a few times at very low speed like 5 MPH. Also have to do the switching jobs as both engineer and the conductor and I found it very hard expashely with the cut of cars ahead, and I do find at reandem texter freaking out.

I ran into a problem where the train couldn't move until it's at notch 4 when the brake lever is at release position and slows down rapidly if you pull power at notch 3 or less. I think it's a bug that causes that problem. I thought the bug was fixed by now because I found this bug several months ago. I wanted to report the bug but I don't know how to do so.

TBH Hyce, you should have jumped right into a service, cut in the Ind, and toggle on PCS. You are too smart for the tutorial. It's a unique problem with TSW2, each time you start a new route you have to go through the route intro and they are built for someone with no experience (hence the no ind brake or dynamic, look around, use the camera, etc.). The service mode really is for the enthusiast, you can have all your safety systems, start from cold and dark, and there is no scripting to mess with schedule or route timing (PZB on German Routes can override scripted timing for example). TSW2 isn't perfect, but it is a solid experience in my opinion.

The reason TSW2 LOOKS so much better than TS2022 is because it's "newer." The core of TS2022 has been around since 2014 or 2015 I believe, and elements of it have been floating around since it's original release in 2009. Basically Dovetail makes some minor adjustments every year, changes the title and sells it as a new game. This practice seems to have finally come to an end because TS2022 is now called Train Simulator Classic on Steam.

TS "Classic"(more like Vintage) is actually built off a game from 2007, Kuju's Rail Simulator, all of the American and European Asset packs are from Kuju's original game

@@PrinzEugen176 That doesn't surprise me. I know that Dovetail's dates back to maybe 09? 10? (When it was RailWorks) I actually didn't even know of Kuju's (and EA's involvement). I do know the core of TS Classics quite old now (2015?), although they did release a 64 bit version while back, I can't speak to that, I had abandoned it by then. I enjoy TSW more, just wish it had more to do in the base game.
