The games are pretty good, a must-play if you are into the original manga/anime. And I’m impressed how they have not reviewed those games here, but in general, they have not been promoted much in the west also, it’s a shame.

really don't need to be sold on the VN. Just here to show my appreciation~

My only complaint with the remake is that not enough was done in arcs route to naturally integrate the new characters. Due to them just replacing her with Mario and Noel for a few scenes and avoiding her to try and see how many Satsuki scenes there were the only times I saw her were the Train scene, the scene at the battle field, and the two after returning to the school. While it was due to my choices it felt like they wanted to have these emotional scenes with Ciel that just left no impact. Otherwise everything felt like an improvement on the original. The Ciel route was such a massive improvement on the original that it makes up for any issues with Arcuieds route though. Can’t wait for the far side to come out.

Picked up the deluxe edition yesterday and was quite happy with it. I played a little of it so far and it does feel like they took great care with the release.

i am just so much surprised a Review over Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon in less than full day of its official release , that is even more impressive if anything, Very Touching and Impressive Review, Truly a must play visual novel for any type moon fan, (9.5! Truly a right Score , i hope other also enjoy as much)

I have no regrets on getting this. Well somewhat a shame the only physical version I could see was super expensive. But I guess that's how it goes when all that's out there is effectively the collector's edition! Still I didn't want to miss out like with Mahoyo. Besides I do love Type Moon stuff. Totally worth it so far. The story is good (from what I've played), the visuals are really strong (remake showing its stuff here) and it's just engaging. Only downside is that when I eventually get through this that I'll be desperate for the remake of the rest of the routes!

Question is the ps4 version censores in digital? Or artbook only?

@@hasseo195 As far as I can tell it's a combination of having a TON of assets and maybe suboptimal compression. All sprites and CGs have variants (like a normal character and a blurry one to represent distance or Shiki's worsening vision) and the variants are treated as separate images, not the base pictures with effects applied to them, so all the HD pics take a lot of space. At least it's not in the hundreds like in the AAA industry.

Fantastic to see a classic VN brought over into English, even if it’s not in its original form. Do you have any intention/plan to review the recent Kara no Shoujo II retranslation and release (The Shell Part II)? You covered the first part last year, and the third part, which has never been translated should release sometime next year. I just hate to see a kamige like this get overlooked.

It's only getting a digital release in Europe. It's already available on PSN UK. I pre-ordered the US PS4 special edition from Amazon, though it won't be delivered to me in the UK until July 5th...

Love this game, and the original too

Seeing western official reviewers review nasuverse works is still so surreal. Great job however. Although as an arcueid Stan I feel attacked. I hope one day arcueid gets what she deserves

I didn't love Witch on the Holy Night, it's probably my least favorite nasuverse visual novel. Tsukihime:remake is without a doubt my favorite. I would highly recommend giving it a chance.

As an OG Tsukihime reader, I don’t agree that Arcueid's route is lesser than Ciel's. At a higher level, while it does indeed serve as a foundation for future routes, the strengths of what it uses from future routes make it a standout, especially fron a structural and thematic standpoint (OG Far Side ontext adds multiple layers to the Remake).

Yeah same, I will never understand complaints about the routes being different length and stuff It is painfully obvious that they wanted to stick to that OG Tsukihime experience while modernizing it a bit. Arcueid route is probably one of the most legendary route of all time. It didn't need anymore than what it already was. Plus the ending setup the future for the Tsukihime 2 we'll see in 2047 Ciel route on the other hand definitly needed heavy modifications so they could go all out with it

For someone who was waiting for a long time for remake, I was hoping every route would be like ciels. Drastically expanded and made better. It's nice to say it was already good but that won't stop the far side routes from definitely being different in their own ways with all this set up. All I can say is I hope there is more for arcueid down the line than a retread with better art than the original. If that's all there was one might as well stick with the manga

Remember when FFXVI did not meet sales expectations from the exec? Most likely because it was console exclusives... I really, really hate that i'm gatekept from playing the games that I want to play. Detective Raincode, 13 sentinels, tsukihime and many others... Guess i'll wait for it to come to PC.

Ok so its less a sony and nintendo problem than you may think. An oft unnoticed yet surprisingly well documented issue with modern japan is for a first world country in the digital age computer literacy rates over there are rock bottom. If you are planning a game for a japan only release putting effort into deving a pc ports actually a shockingly bad financial idea. This was probably started as a mandate from aniplex contrary to nasus statements as more people have consoles in japan than have any form of home computer.

The most interesting thing about this English release is that, in the decade wait to get this, you could have learned Japanese and played the original release years ago. It's always wild reading complaints about translation inconsistencies and censorship from Western fans of Japanese games. There is an obvious solution to the problem that none of them have decided to do because they *think* that it would be too hard, despite them having ample time to chip away at the challenge.
