Thanks Seeing them on Sunday (fingers crossed). They haven't been able to get across the border (Vancouver) since shortly after THIS video was recorded...this will be the first time that they have even attempted to come across. Pretty stoked to see them playing lots from "Beneath the Shadows" and "Dance with Me" too. Especially the DWM songs which have not been played a whole lot since the album was released. Ron is one of the very best guitar players who ever came out of the North American "punk" scene...still in great form too Cheers

So weird for me to hear TSOL's "Other songs". At least to me that's how I think of anything released after their first album Dance with Me. Born and raised 10 min East of downtown LA in Pico Rivera I graduated HS in '81 and a few years before had discovered Punk Rock with the help of the only Punk in HS a girl I keep in touch with to this day. But by '81 Punk Rock had evolved into what everybody today thinks of as Punk Rock today and that is Hardcore. But in '81 TSOL's first EP on Posh Boy was released I couldn't get enough of it! Then later that year Dance with Me was released and boy, did that ever confuse the hell out of me and anybody I knew who knew who TSOL were. I remember standing outside The Hollywood Paladium after a show talking to some punk I met that night and we both couldn't figure out this "New" TSOL band. The EP was all political and Dance with Me sounded so different. And on the EP the singer was Jack Greggors and now was Alex Morgan. We had no idea Jack Grisham used lots of pseudonyms. But the thing about the whole Hardcore scene for me was I loved a LOT of the music coming out of that scene, but the live shows could be crazy dangerous! I went to a show in Venice one night by myself that was in some random warehouse and witnessed skinheads all night long terrorizing any punk who was unlucky enough to "look at them". That was probably around the summer of '82 and I think was the last hardcore show I went to. I wanted to enjoy a show, not fear for my life! So I checked out of the Hardcore scene and that is why anything after Dance with Me are those "Other songs" by TSOL. And honestly to me, anything after Dance with Me, sucks! Which is weird because I couldn't get enough of Death Rock which is the direction TSOL went into. But by then you had like 10 different scenes all going on at the same time. Death Rock, Hardcore, Ska, Rockabilly, Hip Hop (was brand new), New Romantic, Paisley Underground, New Wave, Electronica, etc. etc. Goth wasn't a term for another 5 or 6 years. Anyway, I just never listened to anything after Dance with Me. But give me a band from any of those other scenes I mentioned and I liked something from all of them. So Not going to Hardcore shows was no big deal to me. I sure am glad I was there to see it all. Because that ALL I did. I worked at Ralphs Supermarket and went to shows. What a life :-)

I really like this style of TSOL but I've always been curious how it went over in real time because the hardcore punk scene was not particularly broad minded when it came to non-hardcore music. It always seemed to me that if any other band was playing this style or dressing the way Jack Grisham did, they would probably be given a very hard time and possibly even attacked. However, from what I understand Grisham was a very physically intimidating figure and had a well earned reputation for extreme violence. Did the punks just tolerate this "weird" music because they were (rightfully) scared of him and his crew?

Kay KU I’m not an American, and still you’re totally right!! The real freedom don’t have nothing to do with government’s or medias ”truth” what they’r tellin to keep the crowds on a leash. And to second to control the masses and ”public opinion” I am saying this cause it’s the cold truth. It’s the same here up in northern europe. People hate Trump for many reasons in the states and in the europe, but the things where the hate comes from, has nothing to do with real life. They’r blaming the man as a racist, even though he had shown the most anti-racist behaviour from the 21st century Presidents.. He’s wife and her family is ”immigrants” but not illegal ones! The unemployment has dropped, that rises the welfare especially in the black communities. He’s politics has nothing to do with peoples races. It’s all about the economics and to rise the welfare on every american family, ignoring the race of anyone. The twisted morality of the people who are the loudest to criticize on media and social media, has the least to offer. Nobody likes illegal intruders when they come to they’r house. Nobody really likes them when they come in to your country. Cause if we do the same, and try to intrude illegally to other countries, we get arrested, maybe jailed etc.. It’s a CRIME! That’s why it’s called illegal! So why some of the people in this world should have privileges to do so? I really don’t understand that logic, especially when things are going just in one way..

Beneath the Shadows is my favorite album ever made! Jack's lyrics, the music is dreamy, yet still Punk. Todd's drums were awesome, Mike's bass lines were different, Ron's guitar riffs were screaming and Greg's keyboards kind of held it all together. That album has been my favorite since 2001. I got it from Nitro records. If you bought "Disappear", they also gave you "Beneath The Shadows" and the self-titled compilation. As well as a BUNCH of stickers and a two sided poster, one side was the cover for Beneath the Shadows and the other side was "Disappear". The Beneath the Shows side said "Re-Appear". Mainly because Beneath the Shadows wasn't really available, outside of vinyl collectors. It was the first time "Beneath The Shadows" was released on CD.

Right before signing to Alternative Tentacles and releasing Beneath The Shadows for them. Beneath The Shadows song's are all over the beginning of the show. Most of the crowd hasn't heard BTS yet so it isn't till later does the crowd pick up plus factor in that it's at a CC miday on a warm SoCal afternoon makes for a pretty sedate crowd anyway you look at it regardless of who's playing. This is my friend Louis Elovitz aka Video Louis's footage. Would be great if this channel gave him credit for this footage. Sick of seeing people ripping footage that's not there's and getting views and motorizations and not even acknowledging the videographer/photographer.

Is it me or does Jack look like Jafarr from the Lion King? Once saw the Joykiller open for Pennywise in '96 or so in Cinncy OH and gave him a bottle of Chevis' Regal. He seemed very Genuine &thankful.
