    The lyrics and English translation (See below) One thing first: The marvellous lads here in the video clip are the singer and musicians of this version of the song, not anybody else. The band members are from a Tibetan tertiary institution near the southern Indian city of Bangalore (Bengaluru). TG is NOT the singer here. The singer here is a then young lad, very clearly, not TG. The beauty of this song is in the singer’s voice, notwithstanding the lyrics themselves of traditional Tibetan richness of the meanings. The title of the song is Nying-jey-mo-la, which translates as Beautiful (Beau-ti-ful). Since the sound ny is not in English alphabetic sounds, the way to get it as the native Tibetans say is by sounding it from inside of your nose, its a nasal sound, the lips do not produce the sound. After a couple of practice with the video turned on, you would get it. This is a beau-ti-ful, beau-ti-ful song, presented by a singer with a powerful and melodious voice, of a great band. The Lyrics (Starts with music) zo mo la, pāng gi teng la nying jey mo la, zo mo pu ta yāg ga, dhi drai zo mo yāg ga, nying jey mo la, kar chu wo ma yāg ga kar yol la kar sāng nāng la, nying jey mo la, ser gyi wo ma lūk yod yi trok lha mo khye kyi nying jey mo la, wo phue zhae rok nāng dāng hé....héhé...aé......hé....... ho....ho....o...ho......ho.... ga dhan wāng poi ri la nying jey mo la, dar chok tsuk gyu jūng na dar shing kong poi rong nae nying jey mo la, dren goe jūng nae drak ga Music gya gar la shar gyi ri la nying jey mo la, mā jā māng po dhuk tae gyal poi u-tok nyen pai nying jey mo la, ma ja chik lae min dhuk kar ma la yi gya yi kyil nae pa sāng dra wa min dhuk bu mo la gya yi kyil nae nying jey mo la, khey rāng dra wa min dhukhé héhé...aé......hé....... ho....ho....o...ho......ho.... pae mei la dhūm rai nāng la nying jey mo la, zey mae lu yāng len gyi lu yāng nyen rāng drak nae nying jey mo la, ma nyen rāng thuk song zo mo la, pāng gi teng la nying jey mo la, zo mo pu ta yāg ga, dhi drai zo mo yāg ga nying jey mo la, kar chu wo ma yāg gahé héhé...aé......hé....... ho....ho....o...ho......ho.... zo mo la, pāng gi teng la nying jey mo la, zo mo pu ta yāg ga dhi drai zo mo yāg ga, nying jey mo la, kar chu wo ma yāg ga The Lyrics-English translation A zomo, on a meadow, beautiful, The zomo has a great fur and hair! Such a great zomo, beautiful, great dairy and milk. In a porcelain cup, totally white one, I’ve poured the golden milk; O goddess, charming my heart, beautiful, Please partake the first sip of the milk. hé....héhé...aé......hé....... ho....ho....o...ho......ho.... On Gadhan Wāngpo Hill, beautiful, How I wish to put a prayer flag with a pole; The timber for the pole, beautiful, if needed, Would be great to bring from Kongpo valley. Music In the eastern hills of India, beautiful, There’re many peacocks, But for crown crest of the king, beautiful, There’s only one peacock. Of hundreds of stars, beautiful, There’s none like Pasang (Venus); Of a hundred girls, beautiful, There’s none like you. hé....héhé...aé......hé....... ho....ho....o...ho......ho.... In the lotus garden, beautiful, The beauty is singing a melodious song, The melodious song is so sweet, beautiful, I had no choice but to listen. A zomo, on a meadow, beautiful, The zomo has a great fur and hair! Such a great zomo, beautiful, great dairy and milk hé....héhé...aé......hé....... ho....ho....o...ho......ho.... A zomo, on a meadow, beautiful, The zomo has a great fur and hair! Such a great zomo, beautiful, great dairy and milk. Notes Zomo is a female yak. Gadhan Wangpo Hill is near Tibet’s capital city Lhasa. Kongpo valley is famous for timber. In the verse about peacock, the allusion is to the feathers, yet for a better feel of the song, in a romantic context of a guy calling to a girl, the meaning can be peahen, and in the Tibetan the word is gender-neutral, applicable to both. The videography is done very well. With the first verse, where it mentions "Zomo (female yak) on a meadow, beautiful" the clip shows zomos on mountain meadows. In the next verse, when the lyrics is about "Gadhan Wanpo Hill, beautiful", the clip shows prayer flags on a mountain scenery. In the verse after that, when talking about "there are many peacocks" "in the eastern hills of India beautiful", the clip has a peacock exhibiting its beautiful feather flourish. In the following verse, where it describes "In the lotus garden, beautiful", the video shows nice red flowers (representing lotuses, in substitute for the clip). Tha's all folks! (Since the previous posting of this comment had the lines all huddled together, I've edited the comment here simply to present it with a better realigned lines, and section separation.)

    Thanks for English translation and lyrics. Shouldn't it be Ü ta because pu ta means fur hair

  • @straightline9226

    @straightline9226

    3 жыл бұрын

    pu ta (fur-hair, or simply fur) is right. Uta is honorific for hair, which wouldn't be used for an animal's (zomo's). An old Lhasa joke, in mirth of someone not versed in honorific, goes this way: Once a young guy said to teacher, "Respected teacher, when I was coming ('pheb yong due, honorific to oneself!) I saw a dog-la (respected dog) with a nice uta (hair) and a respected horse (rta la, ta la) was respectfully urinating (chab sang tang gi duk)."
