it's watt-hours! not watts
So ? Remains wheelchair with lithium ion batteries getting on to a plane
I love it how when he talks about the chemical reactions, he pushes up his glasses, what a coincidence
Volts x Amps does indeed equal Watts, but it definitely doesn't give you the metric that matters to the TSA: Watt-Hours.
The TSA website has information that seems to contradict much in this video. Not sure if something has changed or if TSA website is poorly written or what. The specific part I'm interested in is how many sub 100wh batteries you can carry on and the TSA website is clear the answer is 2. Any batteries over 100wh have to be cleared by your airline (and in my experience the airlines have no Idea what your asking them when you try to get them approved). I do somewhat doing the TSA will care if you slightly go over these rules. Also, a couple years ago the limit was 2 batteries Per Device, so a phone and a smart watch meant you could bring 4. The TSA website no longer mentions anything about how many devices.
Omg not WATTS but WATTHOURS man! This video felt so profesional until he said watts 😑
But don't the wattage accumulate? Say you have ten x 100W batteries, that'll equal 1,000W.
Some countries like China and Thailand will look for the Watt-Hr rating of batteries at the security checkpoints. If the rating is too high, or if they can't read it, they will confiscate it.
Can you take an electric skateboard pat tsa
This video saved me a lot of anxiety. Thank you
Sir, I have been flying first time and after watching your video I am absolutely clear what to take and what type of batteries not to take and most important how to keep. Thanks a lot, means a lot. Great Job.
Thanks for breaking this down for us - I really appreciate it :) Excited to start flying with my cameras (and batteries)
Thanks for sharing. Just want to ask: would they allow two or more batteries in one zip lock bag?
This has cleared up everything for me on the battery travel front. Well done and thanks for your work!
I always love your presentations, I needed a laugh today. As TSA regulations and travel have so many restrictions along with what you can carry, Traveling light, compact and productively has always been a concern . Thank you so much for answering a question that has been on my mind for some time...safely packing my gear and ease getting on the plane... thank you again... I truly appreciate you.
Thank you so much for your time and effort!
But JP, what about the charge on the batteries? Is discharging them before a flight just for certain international flights or all international flights?
Can I expect to be able to have 3 Li-Ion batteries from my Nikon D5200 in a Pelican 1010 in my carry-on? -international/SE Asia
What about charging capacity, do they need to be depleted or fully charged?
most informative youtube video I've seen in years....thank you!
