Can you use the low odor monomer with all of your acrylics? Or is the acrylic powder a different formula for the low order? I noticed it’s different packaging but wasn’t sure if it’s just for the kit

@@courtneybartlett97it’s a different formula so you can only use the Low odor monomer with the acrylics in the low order line, not the regular YN acrylic.

​@esthermoran8321 you can't use the low odor on there slick pour. You can use the low odor with the your press on a long as you use the blue acrylic powder made to be used together! I hope that helps!

The powder and monomer were chemically redeveloped so they do not work with the regular acrylic system. It is a totally new product. I'm glad they decided to put out a better low odor system for the acrylic fans. I love their cuticle oil too! It absorbs into the skin so nicely. Your nails turned out really cute!

yes! i think the product is amazing. the only downside is that since the product is so new you're limited in colors since theyve only come out with neutrals and you're not able to use your own regular acrylic powder but its definitely in the right direction

​@tle7026 they will be coming out with new colors! They wanted to try this first to get everyone's feedback. I add some glitter or pigments into this system and they still turn out great and until they get more color's and such out in the future!

I love that they kept the price the same as the original kit with the regular monomer. I definitely gotta try this because the sensitive noses in my home... thanks Evie❤

I’ve been a nail tech for over ten years now and I will tell you that all low odors have a tacky layer that needs to be filed. OPI had a low odor called Clarite’ back in the early 2000’s that required you to do the same. You usually use acetone to remove the sticky inhibition layer and then file. I love Young Nails products. Hands down the best I’ve ever used.

Hey Evie! I just wanted to hop on here and give a little explanation for everyone! I'm a licensed nail tech from Missouri and when you take the test (in MO) you have to use the odorless system (most testing sites are in hotel meeting rooms so no smell) and I can tell you from experience that the Odorless system naturally has that sticky layer! Just like gel, it's called the "inhibition layer" which is science speak for "the outermost layer of product that is in contact with the air" (literally just like gel lol!) It is literally because of the way the monomer is made during manufacturing that causes that reaction (yay science!) We are taught in school to do exactly what you did and file that layer off, however, we are taught to file in one direction to move all the sticky product to one side to easily remove it from the nail. I hope this helps explain things! If anyone has any other questions, hit me up!

That’s such a great set and price! Young Nails did say that their low odour monomer will only work with the low odour acrylic powder. It won’t work with regular powders.

I purchased this kit on black Friday. This stuff is amazing! It works great. It does have a slight dispersion layer, but it files away without gumming up your file. The best part is it sets fast, like really fast! looks great, and the smell is very minimal. It passed my husband test.

Thank you for testing the kit. I was considering buying it and now I think I will. As for the "low odor" acrylic, it is my understanding (from watching their demo videos), that you cannot use the low odor system with their regular system, and vice versa. It has something to do with the chemical reaction. In their video they said they tested it, but the two systems are not compatible with each other. Thanks again for the video. I've been using gel products a lot more bc theres little to no odor and honestly a little easier. But this low odor kit is so good i might try it out.

It's not really low odor, it's more like the odor fades quickly.

Hey I have used this product just also use less monomer than normal. And let it sit a sec or three on the brush before applying. It also does NOT YELLOW !! I love YN♡♡♡ just nake sure you do NOT MIX the other yn powders etc. So no slick pour etc. Just the extreme low odor works together. So you can't use regular powder and extreme low odor liquid etc. It's awesome!!! ♡♡♡

Quick tip, about the sticky dispersion layer on the top, with these low odor monomers. Go to the sink and run some warm or hot water on your nails for about a minute or so. That will take care of the sticky layer on top, so you don't have to gunk up your file to get rid of it.

Love Young Nails. They do it right. Good consistent quality of products. I am impressed with the size of the monomer bottles and the full size powder containers. I can’t believe they sent 5 powders ! I have always wanted to learn acrylic but I can’t do it in my house because of the smell (so I am a Patty Gel girl) This is the perfect acrylic kit.

Super glad you did a review on this product well system, I personally am a gel girl, use to be an acrylic girl but once I found young nails fiber gel, I was sold. Love it. I can use it as an overlay on my natural nails or use it to adhere full cover tips. Can't say enough good things about young nails products. i'm a nail tech who works exclusively with polygel for extensions & builder gel on manicures. i've never really used acrylic powder besides frosted designs on christmas nails. one of my friends suggested that i try acrylic powder from y/n and GIRL. i bought this exact set and it's surprisingly easy to work with. also as a person that has literally never smelled monomer before - the smell is barely noticeable. such a surprising quality..

Apparently the powder is formulated different to avoid the slow setting problem that other low odour systems had. Watched their video on this system recently

I nearly freaked out when you just brought the bottle to your nose. ( Though from experience I knew this was low odor compared to their other one ) LOL It brought back memories for me; rule of thumb never to sniff any product direct from the bottle. Always best to wave your hand over it and towards yourself so that you can smell it as if it was filling the room. I kid you not when I did that when I first went to beauty school I swore to god .. that my nose hairs got singed off. But also I kept smelling monomer and perm solution for days. LOL I love your show and thank you for being such a bright beacon of joy for us enthusiast and professionals alike. I adore you! But I got a sample kit of this I must say. YN has been one of the leading teachers and brands. Hands down their hype and pep talks are amazing. They teach you everything. I adore the bro's and their team ;) will come in handy for my nail business here at home ;)

The powder is labeled low odor because it is only to be used with their low odor monomer. They said the monomer also can only be used with low odor powder.

I watch the YN channel and the reason the acrylic is called low odor acrylic is because the monomer only works with that acrylic. You can not use the monomer with other YN acrylic powders, so I would imagine you can't use it with any other acrylic either.

I just happened to leave another comment about Suzie's low odor set! If you had the same troubles as Evie did last time, you'll need to use less monomer. Seems like the normal low odor systems require way less monomer. And don't forget to remove the dispersion layer by running under warm water for a minute after they set or they'll be all sticky 😊

I love your Christmas nails on your other hand. They are so cute!! And I love the adorable little snowflakes. As for the tacky layer on the nail, slow monomer and acrylic will usually leave a dispersion layer, so the best thing to do is to either file it off or run your nails under warm water for a minute. I learned that from NCE. Hope you're not offended by that. I use Saviland for the slow momomer acrylic and sometimes, I even forget to run warm water under my nails to get rid of the sticky layer.

I love watching your videos and have learned quite a lot. I recently came across the videos of Marcus doing your nails. You are a brave woman!! I don't think I would trust my husband enough. We used to live in Hermitage and Bellevue. I miss Nashville so much. I am intrigued by builder gel. I need to work on shaping, though.

Young nails really give you so much in that kit. I got one a few years back and it’s totally worth it if you’re new to nails and want to work with quality products.
