That eye threader is awesome! The darning needle threading hack I use is... Dental floss! Take a length of floss, and fold in half. Thread the loop through the darning needle. Thread your yarn through the floss loop, and then pull the floss back through the darning needle and the yarn pops right through! Super quick and easy, and practically free!

Every craft needs its own “sewing box” there are so many tiny things I use to crochet with: stitch markers, safety eyes, scissors, crochet hooks, darning needles, needle threaders, measuring tape, stitch gauges, etc. the tiny pieces for the hook holder are simply more of those tiny pieces. I have t8ny ziploc bags and sectioned organizers I put in a sewing box. All my stuff is in one place. Less loss. Lesson learned at almost 70 years of age.

The cutter that you have is actually for thread, it was used a lot for taking on planes when they would not allow scissors. As for the wonder knitter - I have had one of those for years. They are fantastic, not only can you make a cord - you can also make flat knitting. I also made jewellery with wire and beads. It really is so much fun.

I have a pendant yarn cutter made by Clover but the spiral thingies are larger to cut thicker yarn. I used to have a Clover thread cutter that was the size of your yarn cutters. I don't have a chain to put it on but when I was putting my crochet project away I saw a shawl pin aka stitch holder and thought voila! It can hold my yarn cutter because I'm always losing it. Thank you for testing these items. Oh and I forgot, I'm a knife hold crocheter.

A truth stranger than fiction: according to the TSA's published guidelines you can bring small scissors with you on a plane but not one of those thread/yarn cutters. ( See under "Sewing Needles" 🤷‍♀) I have one of the ergonomic hook holder handles obtained second hand so I never had the directions and some washers are missing. I found the washers can be stored inside the handle when it's not in use. I liked the feel of it when I tried using it, but I found that my 3.75 hook kept rotating inside the handle so that I had to repeat the yarn over motion for every stitch; not sure if that was from the wrong washer or just the hook is too small for compatibility. I hope you'll give us an update after using the bendy hooks for a while, do the hooks pull out of the handles over time?

There's a tip that I use to thread yarn onto needles, if you fold it around the eye of the needle and then pull it off squish the fold and wiggle it into the eye of the needle (idk if that makes any sense) but yeah that's how I thread it on, it's very helpful

I am a pencil holder as I've been crocheting over 50 years, those crochet hooks look like they might work for me too, but the other holder does not look like it would help. I have nerve damage in my elbows but it is not bad yet, my fingers get a bit tingly from time to time, they say it is from pulling my elbows into my sides when I crochet, knit, or tat lace. I don't do that as I am amply endowed and the boobs get in the way but oh well. I made a chatelaine a few years ago. I hang it around my neck when crocheting and it has a small pair of scissors, a needle holder, a needle threader and other items I need, very handy to have and I can use it when traveling with my crafts. (I used a large lobster claw to hang my scissors from so I could also remove them if needed.) I have used a knitter before and teaching my grandson how to use one but mine is different than that one and it looks like so much fun, may invest in one of those.

Be careful wearing your yarn cutter pendant in the car. It can cut little notches in your seatbelt if you aren't paying attention. Don't ask me how I know. 😅

Clover has a specific yarn cutter just like the thread cutter pendant.

I'm a new to crochet, just started two months ago and I love your videos! Have you seen the one where you wear crocs, put your yarn through a knitting needle (or even like a chopstick) than stick it in the holes of the the crocs to hold your yarn?

You should also try the cordsmith icord maker. I think its an easier tool with the same kinda result.

Have you heard of Chonkey boy it’s like that big ergonomic tool. But it’s $15.00 and very difficult to buy as it sells out fast. I need all these tools.

I don’t think I do either stake knife or pencil 🤔. It’s a key grip, I guess closer to a regular knife hold, but ‘stake knife’ has the extended pointer & I don’t do that.

When i started to crochet in 2010, i held my hook like a pencil. Over the last couple of years, I've changed to the knife grip. Don't know why. Trying to crochet holding my hook like a pencil is very uncomfortable for me now. I own 2 of the Boye ergonomic handles. I like them and figure i may need them later when my hands protest when i crochet. The washers that came with it, i put them in a ziplock baggie along with the packaging to keep track of them.

I learnt on hooks with no handle and taught to have my pointer finger curved under the rest and with my thumb on top. Its similar to pencil but not... more chopstick? Pencil and knife feel weird to me.
