🇮🇶 More Iraq Videos: • American in Iraq! 🇮🇶 I...
To create this Iraq series, I teamed up with my guides at Bil Weekend ( / bilweekend | bilweekend.com/) and my good friend and fellow travel filmmaker Tasos Karantakos ( / agreeksolo .
With an afternoon in sunny Mosul, Iraq ahead of me, my friends and I set out to have some lunch and explore a local castle and bazaar.
LUNCH: At a restaurant set within an old, traditional home, we had dolmas (which also included tomatoes stuffed with rice), a beef soup, boiled Kubba Mosul, and fried Kubba Mosul, with fresh parsley, cucumbers, and tomatoes.
BASHTABYA CASTLE: After lunch, we explored this 1,200-year-old ruined castle along the Tigris River. The ruins are tricky to navigate and a bit dangerous, as you have to climb up steep ruins and jump across gaps in the walls in order to explore the whole thing.
BAZAAR: At the local bazaar, we saw vendors selling everything from fruits and vegetables to freshly pressed tahini. I tried some fresh tahini, sha’riyya (pistachio halwa), Numi Al-Basrah (fresh lime juice), Naqe’e Al Habib (raisin juice), and mann al-sama (flour-coated nougat). We also met vendors selling coffee and tea pots, as well as another selling coffee and spices from all over the world!

@@MikeyD9 how is it uncomfortable. No body forced anyone to go there they choose their own choice, and don't forget that this country isn't abondond people live there everyday what's the problem. And it's not like the people in Iraq wanted it to become a warzone, but American government did. So don't be rude about it.

I Love You Bro and I Love different cultures and people, It's so Awesome to Fellowship with other's
The whole atmosphere is beautiful...the courtyard ...the house and the foods looked delicious as always. Also I love seeing the ancient ruins..the castle ...all part of History. The Baazaar Tahini making ,,,colorful spices..and the pretty juice mugs. All the utensils were so pretty.. too. As always a beautiful video.. Thanks David and Tasos and stay safe on all your travels.
at a buffet, i personally sneak corndogs into the buffet so others can enjoy them. I hide 6 corndogs in my jacket pockets. it then, is a joy for me to see other patrons of the establishment eat my corndogs thinking they were part of the buffet.

Hi David. Hope your vacation is going well and that there is some snow in NC for Melina and Siena to enjoy. Iraqi food looks delicious. The boiled and baked dish reminded me of pastelles and arepas made with cornmeal. When Brandon said that this was going to be an exciting series, he wasn't kidding. Are you guys insane climbing up the castle without any safety nets? I was on pins and needles just watching you all going up and down the castle ruins. That was very dangerous. Thank God you all got through it safely. What a wild and crazy bunch and what an adventure!!!. So I believe I heard Tasos say that it was the second last day in Iraq and it's always emotional to see these trips come to an end but as the saying goes "all good things must come to an end". So if that's the case, then I am looking forward to the final episode. What a trip eh!!!. Let me end on this for now: I want to wish you and your precious daughters, and your entire family a very warm and safe Happy New Year. May God grant you all that you wish for and more. And to the entire team I want to wish them much success in 2023. May God continue to watch over and bless each and everyone of you. See you all in the New Year 🙏😇🕊️🍾🥳🎉❤️🇹🇹🇨🇦

I honestly appreciate the feedback. Thank you. Have a great New Year too.
In my opinion you are overdoing, your Arabic greeting comes across non authentic, not natural and makes you more appear like a tourist. In the last video you also were rude to your friend: when eating breakfast (chickpeas) you were so egocentric that he hardly could grab some food. Cringe…
@Davidsbeenhere
Жыл бұрын
I tried my best with the Arabic greeting, and to be honest I am a tourist. Also he's actually a paid guide, one of many around the world which I pay a good amount of money for their services, and to help take me around and show me the cuisine and culture. This trip is about trying to make content and bring my viewers along. Not only that, but you realize 95% of the footage is cut out in the final edit, and so just because you didn't see my guide eat , does not mean I hoarded all the food for myself. In fact it is the opposite. Making judgements about another person without having the full story is the real Cringe here.
