Was wondering whether bump-starting it (the proper way) wouldn't be easier, i e. pull it back in first gear with the clutch disengaged until it won't budge. The piston will then be at top dead centre and ready to start after pushing forward a few steps, with the clutch engaged before hopping on and releasing the clutch lever and simultaneously giving it some gas. Works like a charm on 4-strokes anyway.
