Ck for mouse nest in fan shroud! I burned up 3 l/h pistons in the 23 yrs. I had mine due to unkniwn mouse nest in shroud.....I saw something blow out when you were cranking!

Take the main jet out and squirt starting fluid in there to clean out the varnish. Replace tight & 1 &1/4 turns back out. Worked every time!

Ours was a 71' Sachs SX 440

Brings back a lot of memories, it was the first new snowmobile my father bought. A lot of ice fishing trips on the the old Skiroule.

My mom had a S 400 dad bought new ,had a 400 ccw absolute great sled indestructable ! Dad took it up to the Barrie winter fest in the late 70s cuz it was the most reliable of our sleds !

They are such good engines!, always amazes me how they just seem to work

Having worked in a Skiroule dealership for years..the RT-500 had the best suspension system for those years until the RTX'S came out in '72! Love to find one! Used to be a lot of them around here back in the day...where'd they all go?

Obviously a carb clean is in order! Can't believe you didn't do that FIRST!

We rode Skiroules from 1969 until I sold my last one in 1995...had a lot of them! I'd love to find another 70-71 for a fixer upper project. My last 3 were all later RTX models.

Jai encore les moteur ici dans le sous-sol je vais mettre dans un élan le 290 ss et lautre 292 pour pièce base cylinder whatever .
