When the songs are enough to describe what the show is about. “Someone died!” “She lost someone!” “Someone’s named Rose!” “The person is a combination of these two kids!”

Okay, but "Love Like You" has gotta be the real MVP song of the entire series. Rebecca has said since the beginning that it's a song any one character could be singing to another character, and it's so appropriate that the final season (Future, that is) focuses solely on Steven being the singer of it directed towards everyone else. Everyone's always wanted to be able to love like how he loves, but the way he loves has ended up hurting himself more than anything. The line "love me like you" is especially true here with how heavily he deals with self-loathing in the last season. It's really an incredible song to span the entirety of the series and encapsulate the whole thing within one tune.

I know this is kind off irrelevant, but I actually have a tattoo with some "Here comes a thought" lyrics. That song is so powerful, I listened to it while I was really depressed, I wanted to kill myself. I found that my girlfriend was drug trafficking at night. I tried to talk to her and it didn't go well. I was so devastated. But the lyrics "Something you did, that failed to be charming", "What someone said and how it harmed you" made me realize how it wasn't my fault that what I said didn't work, she was the problem, she was doing me harm and not me to her. I swear when I heard, "Take a moment, remind yourself, find yourself" I realized how much I had lost myself, I wanted to commit suicide due to the bad decisions of another person. That song saved me, and im not exaggerating. Every panic attack, every night crying because I didnt know where she was, if she was okay. Just hearing "it's okay" made me feel safe, like someone else understood me. Edit: Sorry if my English is bad, I'm from Argentina

as someone who’s been watching SU ever since Jailbreak, I feel like I sort of... take for granted just how good the songs and messages are in this show. Watching you analyze them and appreciate them really helped remind me why I adore this show so much, and how I’m going to miss it. (It also helps affirm to myself that the show is good on its own merits and that I’m not just liking something because everyone else is, even if it’s honestly not that good, which I tend to have trouble differentiating with myself) so uh. Real talk: The last season of Steven Universe actually taught me something insanely important directly relating to myself and important to understand going forward to be a better person.

He is literally getting almost the whole plot line of Steven universe without even seeing it I am really impressed

"Here Comes a Thought" has helped me so much through my battles with mental illness. I almost cried watching you cry to it. Also 7:51 is mood

"How progressive is this show?" YES. "Is someone dead?" That's... a complicated question. There's lots of happy in the show but the songs tend to be melancholy. They only show up every five to ten episodes though.

It’s progressive in diversity from skin colour and sexuality and gender, but its tbh not very diverse in thought. Its obviously rebecca’s creation, and sometimes she handles very broad subjects quit badly

This guy: able to predict most of the plot of steven universe Me: "He's too powerful to be left alive!" Edit: I love how he got so emotional, and that's good. That was always the aim of the songs of Steven Universe. It may not have the best plot, but you sure is lying to yourself if you say you didn't feel anything from this, wether it be joy, or pain, or sadness. It's really just beautiful songs and I always love it seeing it being appreciated. T_T

Jachariah yeah, it does. There was even spoilers I didn't understand because I'm not all the way through it yet! I figured I was OK to watch this video since I'm on season five, but I guess not! I hope the couple I think is getting married is actually the one getting married, because if not, then I don't know what to say. I don't want to say who it is, because I hear that the fandom really can get ugly about shipping characters. Why, though? It's just peoples opinions of who they think should go together!

Don’t know how this was recommended to me because I’ve never watched the show or see any of your videos but I LOVED this. Seeing someone so willing to openly and completely try something new was the most refreshing thing I’ve seen in a while. And it’s also something I struggle with myself. Loved the video, probably going to binge your other videos instead of sleeping. I LOVE this. Side note: This convinced me to watch Steven Universe, and also Change your Mind brought me to tears lmaooo.

I like how you casually guessed the plot to Steven Universe and kinda got it... It was great.
