TRYING THE CGM ON *ACTUAL* STRAIGHT HAIR

What do you think? Does Anny actually have natural waves? Did the product just bring them out?
Please don’t be hateful towards others. Annie didn’t mean her video harm in any way, so there is absolutely no reason for all the hate she received.

@@janandine8357 people must acknowledge that wavy hair at least is the most common European hair type. If straighteners didn’t existed majority of the western population would have a minimum of waves or mixed patterns in their hair. No need to gatekeep to feel more special, agree. I think you can enhance your pattern but not completely change it except with heat. If the girl in the video did it more correctly I think she could get more defined waves...

Finally, someone with actual straight hair who tried this. My hair looks just like yours and won’t hold a curl for more than about 5-10 minutes either. I wanted to try this since it seemed to work for EVERYONE who claimed they had straight hair. Thank you. You just saved me a ton of cash, as I’m not going to bother buying and using all the products necessary to pull off a look that’s going to disappear the minute the wind blows.

I appreciate that you showed what it looks like on actually straight hair. Mine hair is extremely straight and frizzy. These straight to curly hair videos make you think frizzy=curly but it's not true. Mine is damaged from air drying my hair and hot showers, it's definitely not curly. There are definitely people this works for, but you can usually see waves and curls in people that it works on. Like the lady in the video you can see her waves coming through. I've tried scrunching since I have such frizzy hair and nothing happened. Turns out I just needed an air drying cream and microfiber towel. Immediately stopped the frizz and it's straight as a ruler and softer than ever.

You can tell it doesn't really have a pattern to it like naturally curly and wavy hair does. It's just kinda randomly crimped in a couple spots on each strand, and that's why it looks so messy. Even when her hair was wet and she was scrunching it, you couldn't see any true wavy structure. When you watch videos of wavy haired girls, you can see as soon as they scrunch that their hair actually has a wavy structure. That doesn't happen with straight hair, obviously.

But it takes about 3 scrunches for visible clumping and waves in my hair. @addictaedtokookie1622 Not at all, but it's kind of like cooking. When you have a recipe in mind and it flops, it's discouraging. I wear my hair straight quite often and I know how to do it and I enjoy it. But sometimes I want to have wavy hair. And if the picture in my mind is to tight of a pattern for what my hair is capable of I can feel disappointed cause it's like I followed the recipe and failed. So sometimes I just need to be reminded that I can only do so much with what I have and then. Use the appropriate recipe. I'm happy with my hairs. It's like a fun side project.

I agree, those of European ancestry often have hiding waves and texture...it's just not always worth it to go through this process for "beach waves" (which, btw, people with truly straight hair don't get). It looks more frizzy because as she said it is just texture, it doesn't hold curl shape. And frizzy is looked down upon in modern beauty standards. Anyway, even beach waves won't happen for truly straight hair. If I did this to my Asian husband his hair would just dry entirely straight Even if I scrunch it after a shower it doesn't hold any of the "scrunch" shapes and just slips back into it's natural shape. It's so stubborn to braid because it naturally wants to stay straight.

@@royxriza4ever Yup, I do have coarse, frizzy hair, and thought it was "wavy" so I tried CGM twice in my life....only to have it fall back straight after trying so hard to make it different with products and time--just as you said your husband's hair does. As someone of Irish and Scandinavian ancestry, pale skin, green eyes, and straight hair have been predetermined by my genetics. I'm good if I do a regular pigtail braid but trying to do waterfall braids or something of the like is pointless--my hair falls out of the braids. There's plenty of natural volume, but a complete lack of lasting wave pattern or grip to hold things in. To anyone else reading this: I think my hair would fall somewhere between 1B and 1C, it's highly dense, and low-porosity. On a good day, I look like Anni at the beginning of the video; on a bad day, I look like a papillon dog with fuzz but no bite lol. Perms won't take to my hair, nor will curls.

No. I had waves on the first try. My hair looked almost as straight as hers before I began; it is fluffy with a little curve at the ends and, when sufficiently moisturized, has a long but noticeable wave pattern in the length (I can see 2 waves in my unstyled mid-back length hair). My first result was VERY loose waves that fell within hours, but waves nonetheless. At 2 months in, I now have more defined waves that last all day, and a little leftover for the next couple of days after that. So, the result does improve, but you'll see enough result on the first try to motivate you to try again.

I recently realized I have waves.. I think 2a with a few 2b clumps. But always thought it was straight and thought the kink I saw in it when air drying was because it was still damp when sleeping. To test, without even any holding products... just leave in conditioner and a diffuser..I got distinctive waves from scrunching the very first time and they stayed for days. It looked like I had taken it out of a braid. Since then I have been learning what products to use. In time I think the shape will improve to get more distinctive waves quite easily. So no, definitely don't have to wait for results.
