This is half of the truth. Yes, best selling items will typically have a larger stock than the others items; that's because they sell way quicker and are more popular AKA best-selling. In order to keep up with the demand, they have to make more stock. And in Skim's case, these items are definitely their most popular ones. Half of them have gone viral

I agree because it’s almost as if women are shamed for something we can’t control and then we are not able to access information that we need when having different periods than normal. And not to mention all the little girls growing up with no mom who don’t get that conversation of how to put on a tampon or how to work with yourperiod flow. This is definitely something that should be allowed and normalized in discussion. Just as much as breast-feeding should be normalized.

100%! I started my period yesterday at my brother and his girlfriend’s house. We were sitting outside playing Sushi Go and I said thank you for the Ibuprofen so I can not have to quit because I’m in pain, and can you imagine of you had to stop life because you were in so much pain? And my brother says “You’d never get anything done if you stopped because of periods,” and his GF and I just GLARED at him. 😂

I laughed alot with this vid especially with the extra extra small body shapeware 😂😂😂 and the lil itibittieeee thong Thankyou so much you are such an awesome girl.

The micro thong was actually what led me to the Skims site and I'm SO glad I found it! I needed a small thong because regular ones show when I wear my dance clothes but the nude micro thong ALWAYS stays invisible. 😁

One thing to keep in mind, when you have liposuction, you are supposed to wear a compression garment for multiple weeks to help with swelling and healing. So I just realized that when they were all visibly wearing the waist trainers and bragging about how effective they were, there is a good chance they were recovering from lipo in the waist and back area.

this has some truth, but it doesn’t mean people advertise waist trainers to hide “secret lipo” lmfao. the obsession with slimming tea and waist trainers are connected to the obsession with hourglass shapes. doesn’t have to equate to cosmetic surgery. waist training has been a thing before bbls / lip was popularized tho. an influencer can hide a lipo surgery without the use of a waist trainer. they hide much scarier things all the time. 😭

I must say, the sizing on that t-shirt makes me think that Skims might not be as body-inclusive as they seem to be (looking at their models etc). The black dress is very pretty, would look so good with pearls. Great video, Mia!

So you mentioned ruining a bunch of underwear this period, and I wanted to recommend you try period underwear!! It's not as gross as I thought it would be, and as a backup for heavy days and on its own for light days, it's a game changer. I feel much more positive about my more eco-friendly period routine and have lost zero underwear since making the switch. I love the Knix brand! You should try it and maybe even do a video! Side note: They say you can wear it on its own even on heavy days, but personally I do not find that comfortable.

Ikr and imagine someone paying that £700 towards a small business run by one person who has a family to provide for and that business is their only income, it would literally make their entire year, pay their rent etc. Except people stick their nose up at paying out for small businesses, it’s constantly "omg that so overpriced" etc but people forget that one person made it, one person took time and energy creating something. The skims bras have me in such a chokehold. The jelly sheer bra is SO comfortable and breathable I’ve been looking for around a year for something similar but nothing comes close. Something about the quality of the pieces.

For customs: some brands have "brokerage" built into the shipping price which is essentially paying it upfront. Often the sites will note if that's being charged and note that there won't be additional charges upon delivery. If the seller hasn't done that in advance then you will likely have to pay it upon delivery.

Came here for this. A US brand I buy from indicates it as shipping "Duties Paid" so they handle all the customs taxes and things so you as a costumer don't have to pay. And if there's a mishap they refund you the customs charges

However, SKIMS shapewear which is comparable in price to other named brands- but still pricey, I wanted a specific color and SKIMS had it ( & it's been discontinued) My experience: *I did like the packaging! *Fabric was very very nice *Color exactly what I wanted *Sizing /way off on the large sizes ( bras ) *I bought a pair of cotton socks to reach a total for free shipping. They were the best purchase My impression: overall..I would SIZE up I would not reorder

You buying the micro thong had me in a panic attack because I was like girl HOW are you going to wear that and not blur it out? But I'm happy with the result. That tan suit you have on under it always makes me laugh.

Thongs in general are so expensive for the amount of fabric, i am a miner and i never bought any but i searched it up one day out of pure curiosity and found a pair for 29 dollors and it was just a thin piece of white sheer acrylic fabric… girl?!

Let me explain the SKIMS micro thong and why I am happy it exists. I'm 5'2 about 185lbs (I just had a baby as well). The issue with "regular" thongs for me is the excess of material in the front. My vagina doesn't need all that material so "regular" thongs tend to look not as well fitting as these. I have a bit of a tummy and a lot of times other thongs will almost need to be hiked up on my waist more and obviously that looks funny, pull them down so they sit on my pubic area and it gets droopy because it's to much fabric....this is why I love these thongs.. Just because I am plus size doesn't mean everything on me is plus size

No difference from the back typically (but even with the back g string it'll still be way way to much "string") but a larger size g string still has to much fabric in the front as opposed to the micro thong. I'm telling you if you suffer from this issue I know the price is high but to me it's worth it. I started out with just one and when they go on sale I stock up because they work for my body type. Its all about what makes you feel "put together" confident and comfortable. I always struggled with regular thongs and g string fabric bunching up and that doesn't make me feel confident if I'm wearing tighter clothing.

I personally don't understand how a thong, let alone a micro thong, can be comfortable on anyone! I'm 5'8" and 140lbs, my stomach is flat and I don't think I'm big down there but I've tried thongs and the material shifts and goes to one side or the other making them uncomfortable. I also can't stand the back piece of elastic/material going up the crack of my butt. I constantly feel like my butt is eating my underwear and i have to pull it out, especially with jeans. I guess I'm stuck with my boring bikini bottoms because they just never feel comfy on me. Idk know how anyone can say they're comfortable unless I bought the wrong kind. 😕 Were they comfortable from the beginning for you or is it just something you need to get use to?

I can say that skims is probably no different than any other fast fashion brand in the matter of fairly treating the workers. Turkey became 2nd China for cheap labor. People work for minimum 45 hours per week and get the minimum wage which is equivalent to 245 usd

The currency also is different in other countries like $100 was my aunt’s rent but in their currency is a lot more

@@merlin2946 Yes of course currency is different that’s why I wrote the amount in usd. To be able to compare, I can say cheapest rent you can find is around 200 usd nowadays +another comparison, a doctor’s salary is around 450-500 usd

There are good, ethical and fair manufacturers everywhere. However, the fact that Skims doesn’t offer any information about their manufacturers except for “we pay fair wages and ensure a safe environment” leads me to believe they actually aren’t ethical. Ethical brands usually include the certifications they’ve acquired and actual information about the manufacturers ensuring that employees don’t work over 40 hours a week, have health insurance, get paid vacation, have maternal leave and sick days, are paid more than minimum wage, etc. Many work with small family-owned manufacturers and even show pictures of the facilities. It’s a big red flag when brands like Skims aren’t transparent and provide little to no information about their manufacturers. In a case like this it’s safe to assume they’re not actually ethical.

I'm fascinated by customs in Canada. It's required in Australia for the seller to collect it at the time of sale and it's always 10% so you know upfront what you're paying.

I wish! I’m Canadian and it depends on what the products are made of and what category they are from. The amount is based on the Canadian equivalent. At least that’s how it was kind of explained by a border guard who was charging me duty!

Me too! I feel the same way about shopping in a store in Australia VS shopping in a store in the US, I’m not great at calculating things quick, so didn’t know how much I was up for after tax 🤣 I’m so happy tax is included in the price here

That would be an awesome video. I started using the diva cup about 10 years ago and it is been a total life changer. Even on super heavy flow days, I could wear no underwear and be fine. I love menstrual cups but they do have a little bit of a learning curve. However, they are much better for the environment and feel much better than big bulky pads or tampons. I have tried the period panties but to me I still feel like I’m wearing a diaper. Lol. They’re definitely not as cleanly as a menstrual cup or disc

Right! I only buy underwear made from cotton (whether fully cotton or bamboo cotton)

Like others... that black skims and black dress is EVERYTHING!! Like wear it to a gala or fancy dinner like before your wedding... you look amazing in it.

If you are that someone who's wearing micro tongs daily: please don't! lol Every single obgyn I've talked to says they are awful for one's intimate health, because as you move and bend throughout the day the string moves bacteria between the back and the front and that's good for no one. I really hope people are buying those for occasional use, they are very much not meant to be worn every day 😬

I've never understood why it's supposed to be a problem that the outline of your underwear is visible under (skin) tight clothing. We all wear underwear (most people anyway), so who cares? Just wear underwear that's comfortable and protects the most sensitive parts of your body. You won't catch me in a thong!

@@Angelofnine I have two tongs for when I occasionally feel like wearing those, but yeah. If the outline of an underwear is REALLY distracting me from the rest of my outfit, I go for those "invisible" seamless pieces and they usually do the trick even if you can still notice them if you stare too much. But I agree, we give way too much importance to looking like we aren't wearing underwear lol

This! I don't wear thongs any more b/c I got a nasty UTI from wearing one on a really hot day. I'm convinced it was caused by me sweating down below and not changing in to a dry pair of undies after. Sorry if that's TMI, but it does happen. I was miserable for 2 weeks. I'd much rather have VPL than a UTI.

Ok so the catsuit is exactly what I need - a full body compression suit. I have hypermobility issues and my joints wiggle a lot so that would hopefully keep me together with just enough pressure. And maybe it’s another base layer for our Canadian winters without be bulky long johns that makes you overheated indoors? I’m in Winterpeg so I need all the warmth I can get in the winter 🥶

I remember the shape wear video and your mom looked so incredible. It made me buy some, but I have to say, I don't look anywhere near as good as Mama Maples. It did help me feel better about myself when I have to dress up which thankfully isn't often

Just to put it in perspective….. cotton jersey material by the yard is around 50 dollars a yard! And being 100% cotton it is super breathable so you have to go out in the heat to feel the effect.

@@annapruitt5546 It's both. The part that goes between the butt is a string making it a G-string and the front is lower than the pubic hairline making it a micro.
