Trying Sizzling Sinigang at the Top of Cebu City
First time Trying Sizzling Sinigang! I made a quick trip up to the Top of Cebu restaurant here in Cebu City, Philippines. I wanted to get a good view of the city below as well as try out some new delicious Filipino dishes. I ordered sizzling sinigang, as well as an order of adobo flakes. With Rice of course! and a tropical shake, because hey I'm on an island after all.
I then proceeded to Tops Lookout to check out the beautiful view of the city below, and managed to get my bell rung in the process.

Hi Tater we haven't heard from you in a while; hope things are well. I was going to asked you if your in Cebu don't forget to have a Letchon. Lechon or roasted pig is a staple in almost every Filipino occasion. From birthdays to pasko (Christmas), the celebration will never be complete without lechon on the table. This Filipino dish is so popular that we have an entire province producing the best of the best lechon. And that’s no other than Cebu - the Lechon Capital of the Philippines! CnT Lechon and Rico’s Lechon good place to have it. Also don't forget to have some Cebu Mango. Cebu mangoes are sweet, fleshy and juicy. They are great eaten raw and on its own, but they may be used in desserts, drinks and processed as dried mangoes, mango nectar and mango juice. Cebu is so famous for its dried mango and processed mango-based products, which are exported to numerous countries around the world.
Wow! very nice trip and vlog here in the Philippines,i enjoyed watching.❤️
Another great and enjoyable video ! Thanks for the views and food tours. Thanks for bringing us there. You are a great narrator to listen to. God bless , Ernest in Nashville Tn
My wife and I live in Cebu City. We like Tops in the evening. You can eat outside and see the lights of the city.
I like Tater's vlogs, he's a funny guy, he's maybe fun to be with. In his vlog aboard the ferry boat going to Cebu, you can tell he doesn't like something or that things didn't go as planned, but he never complains too much; instead, he incorporates humor into his subtle criticisms. He's always talking. He never runs out of words. Maybe the only time he's not talking is when he's asleep. Tater, you look after yourself!
Thank you for visiting Cebu my friend!😊
Delicious! Thanks for sharing!
This dude is awesome. Keep the vlog coming
Wow...you have outdone most of the vloggers you rented a car. It must’ve been expensive! That resto looks like it’s spacious with an amazing view ❤️ Those dishes look delicious (masarap). Sizzling sinigang and Adobo flakes never had them before. Slowly but surely glad to see there’s more subs and viewers. Take care Tater 😇

God bless us I like it very beautiful and relaxing place. I want to travel around the world together my family, friends and relatives. In God all things are possible po. Thanks From Lani D. Nepomuceno, Philippines
Got the chance to visit the place when my sister vacayed from LA, and got stuck in Cebu all throughout the lockdown. Great view, great food. Prior to dining in Top of Cebu resto, we had the chance to visit Bulakan ni Alejandria, Temple of Leah and other spots. This was a great pit stop before heading on back to the ciudad ( city ), stayed in Avida Tower 1 at IT Park , right in front of Sugbo Mercado. Thanks, Tater, for the chills of nostalgia. Keep safe. ♥️👊

Side note… my grandma wasn’t the best cook in the world. She grew up “well-off” by Philippine standards in the early 1900s… my grandpa on the other hand, killed it! 😂

The mountains of Cebu City has lots of resorts, vacation homes, world-class botanical gardens, adventure parks-cum-cafe, themed cafes, bars, restaurants, camping sites, hiking trails, hotels,...Visitors from outside Cebu often forgo to tour the mountains maybe because they're used to the fact that a Philippine city outside Baguio doesn't have mountains to explore.
Enjoy our country buddy

Go to a Filipino restaurant in SoCal. Im from Cebu living in Long Beach. At Seafood City or Island Pacific, there's always a Filipino eatery inside the grocery store or around the area. Sinigang is originally a sour soup dish.
You should try kare-kare/ox tail and beef tripe stewed in peanut butter sauce, with assorted veggies like string beans, banana hearts, Napa cabbage & egg plants.

From the TOPS, you'll have an amazing view of Cebu City and its environs. One of my favorite places to visit in Cebu.
Nice :) Glad you rented a car this time. And it's nicer to drive in that kind of place too. No traffic and great views. The views at Tops is amazing. Must look great too at night with all the city lights on. I haven't tried Sizzling Sinigang yet. You said it wasn't that sour? Well if it isn't, then i think it's far from the real Sinigang. Coz it's the sourness that makes Sinigang Sinigang. But as long as you liked it, that's good enough :) Adobo flakes is also a recent invention i think. Haven't tried it yet either. But i believe there are some who sell it in jars. So you can maybe take some back to the US if you want. :)

Cebu City can look amazing at night both from the mountain and from the sea (as viewed from either an ocean-going vessel or driving through CCLEX. When viewed from the ocean (or from CCLEX bridge), Cebu City glitters from down below to the mountains. The mountains of Cebu City glitters like wonderland and when viewed from the top of the mountains, the city also looks amazing as lights flood as far as your eyes can see.

No it was certainly sour! What I meant was, alot of people will warn me before I try stuff "it's very spicy!" Or "watch out it's sour", but that is usually a false warning. I'll try it and it won't be spicy at all lol. But this lady told me it would be sour and it actually was! So nice surprise there
@moondustgirl2132

@@tatertravels Oh okay. Good that you liked the sourness of it. The difference i guess is that traditional Sinigang is soupy and not like gravy. So it's also nice to sip on it from time to time as you're eating it with rice. :)
Tater , I am a Filipino here from Toronto, you have a very good sense of humor😂so I made it.

There's a food court near SM Seaside. It's the one next to the Nustar Hotel in Il Corso's parking lot. Check it out there's lots of great choices there. Also check out Sugbo Mercado in IT park.
Bro check out the Cebu safari zoo just off north of Cebu city. Lots of free-range animals roaming around, pretty cool place, you'll love it!
Tater i enjoy watching your vlogs.im from mindanao
Nice Resto! I lived in Pardo, Cebu for 10 years 70s to 80s. I Iearned Freediving in Cebu when I saw Badjaos pan handlers diving 1 peso coins when i tossed them in the water in Pier 1. I was fascinated and learned their technics of breathing not the commercialize breathing they used today. Enjoy Cebu that's my first choice when i retire in 10 yrs i know Cebuano and love the Ocean. Maayuman man deha Sugbo.

Bajaos are no longer allowed to dive at the piers of Cebu since late 80s. But the city has given Bajaos a permanent place to build their own community along the coastal area. They were banned from panhandling around the city or island in Cebu. That's why they were trained to earn a living and given space to build their own homes and even provided free houses. Soon, they invited more of their own kins from their home in Mindanao so they grew into a big community now. The city also helped their kids to get free education and some of them are now professionals and learned to earn their own keep.
good call on the car rental, now u can go anywhere
My home town cebu city
Love Cebu City 🪅🪅🪅
Also if you're gonna try Lechon, make sure you do it right. Go to "House of Lechon" in the heart of the city, can't go wrong there. Eat it with Garlic rice + sisig, with the spicy dip it comes with.
i hope we could bump each other if ever you are still here in Cebu. Enjoy tater!
Nice tater. Take care

Hey T, nice vlog. How was it like driving in the Philippines? My wife wants to go back next year and I wish to rent a car. Who did you rent it from and was it reasonable? You got me hungry watching you eat some great food. 🍹🤤
I should mention that I spent $18 for lunch today for a poke bowl and a coke can. Nice Korean lady threw in a free cup of miso soup because I frequent the place. So yes, $14 for all that is a great deal👍🏼 Btw my poke bowl was smaller than your bowl of garlic rice😒

Tater since your in Cebu try the whale experience in Oslob and how to reach that place their is a bus or probably a jeepney that takes you there.
Hahaha that's a good rang 3×
Next time just go to Las Vegas, LA or San Diego. They have all the Filipino Foods there too. My hat's off to you if you can drive there. I guess the Bataan Death March reenactment won't happen after all. Better to eat at a place where they can give you a date with a local lass.
Told you make a video about you adapting and adjusting to things here in PH. Spoon instead of fork... Only Filipinos do that. 😁
