There is nothing better then taking in the refreshing, crisp, cool air in a beautiful Irish town, then taking off the heavy winter coat inside a warm and cozy little pub and enjoying a nice stout by a little fire place. I miss Ireland so much. There is nothing like that in the States.

You had the best guides! Gougane Barra is a gem mostly missed by tourists. It’s named after St. Finbarr who lived there, it’s said that starting at source of the River Lee which is there, he followed it to the sea and started his monastery there i.e. now Cork City. It doesn’t get more Cork, than Clonakilty black pudding, Tanora, Beamish and Murphy’s and Tom Durcan spiced beef. Nicely done!

Scotland is a Country, has it's own Parliament but is part of the U.K. just like the Isle of Man and the States of Jersey and Guernsey, which are not E.U. members. However, Scotland has limited Tax raising powers, unlike the independent I.O.M. and the Channel Isles. Scotland does have a separate Legal system.

Hi Guys After hearing you are going to New Zealand with the Way Away I thought I would suggest a few rather unique places to visit in New Zealand. My first recommendation would be the Waitakere Ranges just west of Auckland. This is an amazing range of steep hills between the Western Suburbs of Auckland City and the wild west coast. One of the regular places many people visit is the village of Piha with it's amazing outcrop Lion Rock. However that is only the start of the Spectacular coastline - Kare Kare with it's waterfalls and beach is another amazing place, but to me the best of all is in the Bethells Valley, There is one of the truly most incredible lakes in the world to be found there - it's called Lake Wainamu. It is nestled in a valley and is a fresh water lake held in place by the most amazing sand dunes. Inland sand dunes with a fresh water lake is one of the most incredible and unusual natural formations. Walking up the stream from the car park, just by the bridge, about half a mile inland from Bethells Beach is amazing. It is an incredible place to go swimming too, so if the weather is half-decent take your costumes. The visitor centre - Arataki - on Scenic Drive is also well worth a visit. It is also very much worth visiting Devonport - do try the Meat Pies - a New Zealand tradition - at Devonport Stone Oven Bakery. If you are heading south of Auckland, do explore the Mangere Domain just near the airport - it is an amazing park in a volcanic crater - you can hardly believe how close to the International Airport such a serene location can be. A bit further south is the Glenbrook Vintage Railway, a beautifully restored railway with Steam trains along a stretch of rural branch line. It gives you a real feel for the rural history and landscape of New Zealand. If you are crossing over to the Eastern side, for instance if heading for the Coromandel Penninsula, it is also worth visiting the Hanua Falls, another hidden gem of Auckland's regional parks. Trips out to the Islands of the Auckland area are also recommended with Waiheki and Rangitoto Island both worth considering. Hope these suggestions help.... Enjoy New Zealand - it is an amazing country.

Hi Allison and Eric. Just found this travel blog covering your trips around Eire. I note that you were in Kinsale. Did your hosts tell you that Titanic sailed past the Old Head of Kinsale after having stopped at Cobh (Formerly Queenstown) for two hours, before she set out into the North Atlantic toward New York. On 14 April 2022, it will be 110 years ago on 14 April 1912, set sail from the port of Cobh,(pronounced COVE) Eire. Of the 123 passengers who boarded in Cobh, 79 perished when the good ship went down the next morning, 15 April 1912.

You should, transatlantic flights are super cheap with Norwegian and wow airways. One tip would be to go in the shoulder season like September, weathers not too bad (it still very unpredictable though!) and its not flooded with tourists like the summer months.

Lynnetta Pierce you really should. Ireland is amazing, friendly, chilled, great food, great scenery, historical, fabulous people, the pubs and bars are great, the restaurants are comforting, the accent is adorable and the welcome is second to none. I’m hoping to return again this spring/early summer.

The Endless Adventure....do you guys have triple cooked chips in the States? They are absolutely crunchy and delicious, way better than ordinary sold chips here (i.e. frozen) which can be flabby and tasteless and chuckable. But that fish! Oh, my! My mouth watered.

Eric, here's a tip from a parent - break the food, then touch it to your lips. You'll know if it's hot before you put it in your mouth :P I see this in every video "whoa, that's hot", lol
