Pakistan was a part of India before 1947 and tandoori chicken was invented way before than that and in a northern state, so basically you can say its indian😅

It was invented by Kundan Lal Jaggi from Peshawar in modern-day Pakistan. From what I know, Pakistani's eat it way more since they aren't vegetarians as well. So most people say its Pakistani.

@@DA-bb1jc He was originally from Peshawar, but he settled in Daryaganj, Delhi and created tandoori chicken and also similar dishes were also documented in harappan civilization 3000BC. Most Pakistani foods were actually created in India before 1947, so they should be considered Indian dishes. Even Urdu, which is Pakistan's national language, is originally from India. Pakistanis are facing so much problem because they seem to have forgotten their roots.

@@Normie4lyf Yes he's from Peshawar therefore he's Pakistani therefore a Pakistani invented the dish - not that hard to understand. I'm Indian myself but if you want to say that most Pakistani foods were created in "India" before 1947 - then it wasn't India then either - it was the British Raj. Pakistan and India weren't formal countries until 1947. So if you want to be technical then tandoori chicken is a British dish. It seems as though you have forgotten your roots of British colonization :)

If a Ukranian person single-handedly made Sputnik then yes, everyone would say that it is a Ukranian invention. However, that is not the case. It was a USSR-led initiative. Tandoori chicken, on the other hand, was created by a Pakistani from Peshawar. Better luck next time :) @@Aryatva
