The way how he’s able to immediately start playing a song without playing it before just by looking up (I’m assuming) the chords is so amazing and cool. It takes me multiple times practicing a song to be able to play it. Dude is so talented.

It's actually pretty simple 😭 He just strums, which is the easy way of playing the chord. What needs practice is complex riffs and solos but he rarely does that

@@gloaming_cat It’s not really that simple lol. Each song has a strumming pattern which you need to learn as well. The strumming patterns (or picking patterns) are hard to learn, especially when singing while playing. To be able to do it immediately without any practice beforehand is impressive.

That's what I mean by riff. But he doesn't really learn any complex strumming pattern, he almost always does the same patterns. Most of the times you can kinda guess what the strumming should sound like by ear, and you don't need to play exactly like the original song (which is usually harder) to make it sound similar/acceptable.

@@gloaming_cat Strumming isn’t the same as riffs. He also doesn’t do the same strumming patterns. You can hear that they’re different. Even “simple” strumming patterns are difficult to do when going right into singing without practicing the pattern beforehand. You’re forgetting the fact that he goes immediately into playing the song without listening to it before or practicing the pattern before. That takes talent and skill.
