Spicy Ahi (and shoyu) poke are also found at the Costco's in Hawaii and other local grocery stores (fyi spicy ahi is one of the Hawaii local's favorite flavor of poke ;) ) At least for the Costco's here, they use fresh ahi which is why it's quite expensive ($19/lb) but definitely still the authentic poke and not that other fake poke sold on the mainland (Continental US) that uses edamame, corn, etc. and it's not even mixed! lol

Love these videos! Unfortunately, we don’t have most of these products in Austin, Texas Costco’s. I would love to try the old boba that your mom liked.

i love the tonkatsu ramen omgg also if you let it sit for awhile the noodles actually absorb the broth and it’s even better

I grew up in Santa Cruz and I fondly remember when my mom would take us all to the beach (siblings and cousins) our lunches often would be Crushed up ramen with the seasoning packet! That goes back about 30 years also cinnamon sugar toast! My kids love it now too. 😂

I really like the Dongwon Rapokki Traditional Korean Rice Cake and Ramen with Spicy Sauce from Costco. It was my first time trying rice cake and it was so good.

Taiwanese castella is very likely a borrowed item from japanese washoku, western influenced Japanese cuisine. The castella you have here is the Japanese one and is typically quite sweet, the texture is also normal for it and still is sponge cake as opposed to creamed butter cake. Taiwanese castella is made with a souffle technique and is therefore going to look taste and feel entirely different. Also the rolls, the ones shown as spring rolls in the photo inserts seem more like Vietnamese summer rolls.

If you’re ever in SJ Japantown check out Classic Loot. They have a lot of Sanrio accessories and cute things I haven’t seen since childhood.

I call those little ones spring rolls. Maybe it’s a East Coast thing? The rule of thumb at restaurants near me is usually: egg rolls=large crispy fried rolls with a dark bubbly outer shell filled with cabbage and a meat at least, spring rolls=small fried rolls with a light smooth crispy shell and only vegetable filing (what vegetarians can order), and fresh/summer rolls=rice paper wrapped rolls with fresh vegetables and protein of your choice

I call those spring rolls. The ones with thicker wrappers from American Chinese restaurants are egg rolls. We call the rice paper rolls summer rolls here in Canada

The Golden Island jerky has a new jerky nuggies, I seen them at Costco the other day but forgot to buy them. My favorite jerky👌. Costco also had this Tonkotsu miso ramen, but they don't sell it any more at my Costco (central valley native) literally so fire😘👌

I think I would buy the Hello Kitty Noodles! I love how plain, but has a solid base flavor. This should allow me to switch it up every now and then. Make it similar to biang biang noodles (with the chili oil), or even add a roasted sesame sauce. Many different toppings and veggies would pair nicely with the noodles too. Thanks so much for reviewing them!
