She's really not. She claims to have tried EVERY boba place in the EB but she went to like 5 places & never went to Alameda, which is the heart of EB & literally on the Bay. Dissapointing.

My access to boba in my country is slim if you aren't better off financially. I finally ordered some pearls online and I'm gonna try to make my own. Wish me luck. I'm obsessed with trying it.

A lot walking distance from campus, Yelp is the best way to check. There’s tp tea, yifang, feng cha, etc

Speaking of matcha… I had to use a huge amount of willpower today lol. I live near the Lindt chocolate outlet store but I haven’t been in years because it’s dangerous for my wallet and health. I went today and found out they have a matcha truffle! I had no idea. I guess they weren’t super popular because they were selling bags of 75 truffles for $25 B1G1free 😱 So 150 truffles for $25. I. Didn’t. Buy. Them. ☠️ I got a few sold individually to try though. The matcha flavor is pretty legit for an American chocolate company but I didn’t love the white chocolate shell. So I probably did myself a favor not buying all of them, but I feel like I missed out on a great deal lol

I don’t know if you have ever been to this place, but it’s called “FortAipe Asian Shop” and I get there Carmel chocolate boba with salted Carmel custard it’s SO good!

Ashaaa! :) I just got an oat milk matcha latte with boba at Asha today at their Oakland location; they're also in SF. They also have sparkling lemonade with fresh strawberry syrup which I regularly get for my hubby who's less into tea. Please do more East Bay! There's a lot of spots in Alameda (mostly chain places), U-cha in Berkeley, Amausaan Uji Matcha started serving boba, Ti-bear, TP Tea. You could very easily do a Berkeley only episode.

I would say Purple Kow is a Berkeley classic (fun for the giant cups), but I'm not sure if they survived the pandemic :(
