Duels is the most feast-or-famine mode the game has, even beyond Battlegrounds. Unlike something like Arena, every play has to be high tempo or you'll lose the initiative and be playing catchup all game.

I feel like in the minority, but I've never really liked Duels, the fun, at least for me, came from the single player versions, where you just built the most insane deck to destroy the AI with. When everyone has a super OP deck with insane bullshit, no one has a super OP deck, and it's just random bullshit

Honestly I love duels. I only have to get half a deck to start and it’s always a new adventure with the cards you get and the treasures and what not. Sad to see it go even though I know the game mode itself wasn’t balanced properly.

yeah had a streamer I watch do a progression series of yugioh where they start with the first set LoB (legend of blue eyes) and each week move to the next set to come out and around set Spell Rulers (aka Magic Rulers) that when the first real special summon from deck came and added the rule a special summon limit so you can only special summon at max three effect monsters normal monster were still unlimited mostly because even that early normal monster were a joke. but they ended it before ARC-V (aka Pendulum set)

What would you think about blizzard selling little board buddies like in legends of runeterra? Like having a little patches the pirate on your side that can emote and do player attack animations etc?
