it's just Old Hollywood makeup from the 50s, mostly Marilyn Monroe's eye makeup and a bit Twiggy nice but nothing new

So far you are the only non-Asian person I have seen actually do this makeup style correctly, and like you were saying it's because the structure of our eyes/brow bones are different.
Despite being an asian myself I find it very hard to do the douyin eye look since I have a very round eyes, but now I'm gonna try it once more, thanks to you! 🤗

Loved how well researched this tutorial is! I dont mean to sound anal about makeup techniques lol but you really covered all the “points” related to douyin makeup~ Douyin eye makeup I actually think really suits more “western” features, compared to kbeauty which is nice as well, but is definitely suited to more monolid/mongolian eye shapes 😮 Also, you draw fake lower lashes so well lol I cant do them for the life of me 💀

I have hooded eyes with epicanthic folds (I'm white) and I've never found our makeup style to be suiting my features. Never worked well for me so i discovered douyin and k-beauty. I love how it makes you look so youthful and fresh, whereas western makeup makes you look older, in my opinion.

this is so true, i think this is why there’s such a polarity between someone wearing western makeup to no makeup
I'm going to a heavy metal festival in a few weeks and I want to go for an athereal and elfin look for it. This was perfect advice and inspiration. You're so pretty.

That eyeliner technique is very similar to how Marilyn Monroe did her eyeliner. A lot of people seem to think that she used black liner and did a full cat eye, but it's not true. She almost always used brown, with this eyeliner technique. It's so interesting how good techniques resurface over time into different looks 🙂
You could teach your makeup skills to some Hollywood makeup artists! You are fortunate to be able to look like so many stars! God bless!

I love how this style of makeup truly is great for making the yes seem bigger. Your eyes are already big anyway (Not in a bad way in the slightest they are so pretty) but omg it truly just highlighted your eyes even more SO PRETTY.

This makeup looks amazing on you and suits you so well! This is the only type of makeup I do along with korean makeup because I fit their beauty standards pretty much perfectly. I used to get frustrated with my round and large eye shape because I could never pull off that "sexy cat eye" type look so this style really helps me embrace my eye shape plus I get to look like a cute doll so it's a win-win.

I really fell in love with the douyin makeup style but I wasn’t sure ho to make the techniques work on my features, especially on my eyes since they are also deeper set. Ahh, my favourite makeup style 🥰 It looks great on you! I'd love to see you try Ju Jingyi's makeup next, it's a calmer/nude version of douyin using triangular technique, great for daily use. And if you're looking for a good glitter palette, Rom&nd has the best ones, they don't move at all and stay all day!
