My favorite spring bass lure is those berkley power bait max scent flat minnows. Rig them weightless and skip um under trees and jerk then sit for 3 seconds then jerk and sit for 3 seconds and so on. I catch some good fish like that

What baits for local ponds do you use for bass

Fishing here in England is SUPER simple and fun. Sit on the side of a lake/pond with a rod and a pole, pellets/maggots/worms as bait. And have fun.

Live bluegill also work great For spawn bass The females are up near the shore and are aggressive, and where I live, it’s not warm enough for there to be worms and salamanders in the water, so they don’t eat fake worms or most soft plastics

Buying 6cents junk is hilarious. Why doesn’t anyone keep a full spool of line on their reels.? Finesse fishing rarely leads to a big fish, 2 or 3 pound bass maybe a 4 or 5 if you’re lucky. I’m looking for the biggest 8, 10, 12 pound bass in the lake, constantly throwing big glides, big swimbaits, heavy rods and I’m not afraid to take a skunk 🦨 because the little ones don’t excite me after many years of bass fishing.
