Truthear x Crinacle Zero REVIEW! Scientifically perfect, probably

If you're reading this description, you're probably within the range of "the average person." Which means that, probably, the Truthear x Crinacle Zero is designed to meet your listening preference. But how's it sound in real life? I've spent weeks comparing it with other top budget sets to find out.

    Picked up a set of these as my first ChiFi IEM. Really happy with them; great value and performance and imo, perfect "entry" IEMs. One thing that I dislike is the y-splitter is a bit heavy and I find the cables gently pulling my ears forward after wearing the IEMs for a while - especially while reading/looking down slightly. Maybe it's a combination with the cable? Otherwise, love them. Might have to try the Moondrop Spring tips.

    If you have small ear canals, I highly recommend the Spinfit CP155's to pair with the TE Zero's. It alleviates the discomfort from the huge nozzle lip (6-7mm) compared to the stock tips.

    Obviously much less sound stage and spatial effects vs my Edition XS open backs but man ... I find myself enjoying music instantly with these. You feel the music. $50 vs $500 and I have to say bass impact is SIGNIFICANTLY more and punchier. These are great for rap and EDM. Very detailed in FPS gaming as well. The downside is nozzle size and I can only wear a couple hours at a time. Still trying to find that uber comfortable daily driver. Probably going to get IE 200's.

    I normally go back and watch reviews of products I review to see what others think… my target is surprisingly close to yours, I just add more bass and a bit more ear gain… I like how your target does eat gain tho… this sounded so hot to me, I couldn’t take the 4-8k.

    I got this 2 days also. Initially I was not impressed and thought it was overhype on the bass part. I tried all the ear tips provided. Bass was ok but not what I expected. Then I swopped the tips to one of my other IEM which was much thinner and softer compared to the original tips provided. Wow! What a huge difference it made to the bass! The softer tips that I use provide a better seal and more comfort too. So try all the tips u can get your hands on and find the best ear tips.

    I've noticed that you use Spring Tips on almost all of your IEMs now. Do you find that they change the sound much compared to other tips? I just got my S8 and the stock tips hurt my ears quite a bit, so I've switch to the Spring Tips. Was wondering if you've noticed or measured the differences between the two.

  • @SuperReview

    @SuperReview

    Жыл бұрын

    I have some measurements of Spring tips versus other tips. Typically I'll measure some difference in the treble (small but not meaningless), but that's it. And the differences aren't super consistent between IEMs, so I don't make generalizations about what they do to sound. When I use them, it's because I prefer the fit. (I also have them on my S8 for comfort reasons.)

    I wasn't more impressed with these than the Moondrop Chu. Especially if you listen to any EDM these Zero are probably better for music made with actual music instruments. I listened type C dongle and Bluetooth DAC Quedelix 5k. My bias is admittedly club going peasant that used Vmoda M100 for years. Personally I want low end performance katana blade punch without all overpowering of the midrange. I finally caved and ordered planars. So far the Diokos not bad for $99 with really sublime housing fit for my ear shape. Just wish they had a clear cover instead of purple nail 💅 polish. The Timeless are coming today. Otherwise maybe a hybrid planar is next.

    This thing succcccks. It literally sounds like an am/fm radio. That giant dip around 150-200 where the crossover occurs makes sound hollow with no body, but there bass, which is strange. Then, its shouty up top. I had to EQ them onto the Timeless AE frequency response to get them to sound half "normal". After that, they are awesome, way better than stock, if it weren't for it being able to take to EQ well, I'd have thrown these out. I also have the Timeless Ae's as a reference, and with a retune, I can get real close to it, obviously without the precision of a planar. Stock however...this thing suckkkks. The 7hz zero gave me a wow response, the second I put these in I was like...what in the f*** is this trash!?

    @@Rorensuwl8 Your definition of "clean" is interesting. My definition of "bloated": little to no upper bass definition; bass out of proportion to rest of frequency response; flabby bass; slow bass - I think that about sums the bass up. Oh, then there's the mid-range: "shouty" - hope that helps clarify.

    calling me "the average person" feels weirdly offensive.. similar with the "scientifically perfect" idea... i mean technically it might fit my sound but i don't wanna feel like everything is dependent on fitting a standard curve... i bought a zero though if JUST because i wanted to know what i want when i bump up to the 200-300 dollar range and i know what kind of IEM i'd want
